Patriots cut OL Caleb Benenoch

I guess he’s out for Watson.

They got him before he could retire.

Yikes:eek: so our Brass thinks Ryan Izzo TE in name only is better?? Smoke and mirrors can't hide Izzo's deficiencies. I would have kept the extra Lineman.

Wow...Corey Cunningham is now our only backup OT...and he's not worthy of even being on the game-day active roster? Sad...I know that Wynn's injury was unexpected, but damn...this is the best that Bill can find? My goodness...We currently have Zero OLmen on the 53 drafted in either 2017, 2018 or 2019...but who needs young, cheap talent in the pipeline when we have Thanksdad & Oldhouse? And before anyone mentions injuries: guys like Garcia & Cajuste were already damaged goods during the draft process; they Never should've been taken where they were taken because of those same red flags.

He was the one who Benenochs.

I'm sure Caleb was told to leave his contact information with Bill. But given how so many Patriot cuts have been winding up on other team's rosters these days, I'm not sure how long he'll be out there. Steven Anderson just go picked up by the Chargers I think after not being able to stick on the PS. I guess all you have to be is Patriot adjacent to get on a roster. ;)

BTW- Dan Skipper is still practicing every day with the Pats. Maybe he's getting better.

Your post seems to imply that there were older players who needed to be moved out.

Cannon
Mason
Andrews
Thuney
Wynn

is a young group. Karras is a young backup center. Froholdt would have been a young backup guard. Almost the entire originally projected OL was 26 or younger. It's not roster planning that's the problem. It's injuries that are the problem. Even if you dismiss Cajuste, as you did, the team had a young line and young players behind at 3 spots, and a veteran at the OT spot (Veldheer) who retired on the team. In other words, given that you plan for 8-10 OL spots on the roster, the Patriots had their group in place prior to injury and retirement, and only 2 of them (Cannon, Veldheer) were more than 26 years old.

Yeah Garcia and his red flag history of blood clots in his lungs.

And Cajuste who was available where he was available because teams knew he would miss time.

Remind me how we ended up with Cannon again?

I am sure that BB also specifically signed lineman in the offseason so they could retire as Patriots.

They probably feel Izzo has more upside, can play STs and may not have made it through to the PS (not sure if he has eligibility or not).

since 2015, BB has swung and missed a lot in the draft..

He does.

You mean like every other team?

The team currently has only one first round pick from 2013-2019 currently on the team and active.

2013 first round pick - None
2014 first round pick - None
2015 first round pick - None
2016 first round pick - None
2017 first round pick - None
2018 first round picks - Wynn (IR), Michel
2019 first round pick - Harry (IR)

And the second round really isn't any better:

2013 - Collins
2014 - None
2015 - None
2016 - None
2017 - None
2018 - None
2019 - Williams

I doubt you'll find that to be like every other team. The team's had some down drafts in recent years, particularly at the top.

Where’s Dan Skipper when you need him?

What a pathetically lazy post.
