The D & D crowd. I bet they bring a pair of 12 sided dice with them, again.

See, this is the problem. My wife wasn’t aware of this today until I explained it to her, and she’s well educated. She had just assumed that no woman would want to bring on the humiliation of a rape case, and being publicly judged is the only option.

But...Rape victims are protected by specific laws so they can keep their anonymity and avoid being embarrassed on the witness stand. That’s why these laws exist.

Rape shield law - Wikipedia

But then you do have agenda driven turds like SMY, peddling why filing a criminal case is pointless and explaining that we shouldn’t dare question why a person would jump directly to a civil suit (thus opening themselves up to discovery in exchange for a chance at compensation). That she didn’t even attempt to file a criminal complaint, even after the fact, even two years after, is appalling. Looks like she’s just counting on the SMYs of the world to yell and scream at people who question this very suspicious choice to seek justice in a civil court while not even contacting authorities at any point.

SMY is a gutter rat, as is anybody who takes the guilty until proven innocent approach.

I unfollowed her because it was just endless tweets of her arguing with people and I agree with a lot of her politics but it was still out of control.

"Sapphire"SMY strikes again!

Which begs the question, using SMY's own logic, if no amount of money will change what happened, why then, is Brown's accuser pursuing a civil case instead of seeking justice through a criminal case? She's literally making the argument against her own opinion.

Plus filing false criminal charges is a felony...so theres that too

Some amount of money will make it a little better I guess...

I'm about to head out - can the night shift crew please keep working on this and provide an update in the AM? We need to get this issue resolved so we can move onto debating what Newhouse's position on our OL will be.

I think what a lot of people are fighting for is to not have these claims dismissed or undermined with quips like, "why did you take so long to come forward? she just wants money!"

I think what they’re fighting for is to not be questioned, and in that endeavor they have come long way. Lots of people today believe you should never analyze the behavior of the “victim.” But that is wrong for two reasons:

1. Nearly every case of rape or sexual assault is unprovable. The credibility of the accuser and accused is what the decisions must be made on. Saying we can judge the accused’s behavior for credibility but not the accuser is putting your fingers on the justice scale. Nobody has any issue judging Brown’s erratic behavior against his likeliness for committing this crime. For instance it’s more likely than someone like Brady.

2. When a lawsuit seeks money for emotional pain it’s entirely relevant whether any emotional pain exists in the accuser’s behavior. You cannot claim you are so distressed you need financial compensation but not so distressed you wouldn’t go fly to your alleged abusers house several times. It simply doesn’t make sense.

And children aren’t always believed, or Michael Jackson would have died in prison. With children we understand why they might not go to the police at six years old. But, yes we treat adult women different than six year olds for good reason.

She has less than zero credibility after some of the nonsense she is spewing. Nancy Grace-esque with the guilty until proven innocent and even when determined innocent won’t acknowledge. Which is what it will be if we learn evidence that he did not,

The league wishes to act quickly but the accuser refuses to meet with the league until next week. I suspect that Kraft is in touch with them, and receives daily updates.

Withholding information about this kind of incident is likely enough for the team to suspend if they wish, and then void the contract.

As an aside, if the steelers knew about this, then they were likely screwing the raiders, unless they were told.

She files a civil lawsuit, yet she’s not available until next week. Yea makes real sense. I’m just so done with this ********.

Hey, look at us! We are from Indiana, where there is another football team called the Colts. We consider ourselves “rivals” and are so relevant to the New England Patriots these days.

And somehow they get offended if we refer to it as a flyover state, they're lucky when we deign to refer to it at all.
