In her defense there are worse things to be. She is blinded by her cause, but her cause, standing up for abused women is an honorable one.
Many people have as narrow minded views without even having an honorable cause behind it.
In other words she is wrong, her intentions are good and she just doesn’t get the unintended consequences she creates and that’s better than willfully stubborn ignorance.

Being narrow minded for any cause is dangerous, actually. Being blinded by one cause and not looking at the other side, is also very dangerous. So what in the world are you getting at? She sucks. I’m sorry, but some reporters really ****ing suck at their jobs.

Here's where one of the real problems starts. Yes, women are stupid (and so are men). When people say things like "A man/woman would never...", they're pretty much 100% guaranteed to be wrong. Just follow Florida man (sadly, not the original) for a while, and you'll see.

I could’ve worded it better- read it more as “we woman are not unaware”.... she’s an attractive woman who went to college- there is no doubt she’s given the brush off to and had to deal with a creep or two.
I agree that there is many stupid and downright idiotic women. In this particular case, I would say she is reasonably clever and perhaps cunning (contacting him about her ability to strengthen his ankles, which would be something an athlete always looking for the extra edge might fall for,etc etc)

The problem with judging these situations is how inherently binary they are.

Either the accusations are true and the accused is a sexual predator. Or the allegations are false and the accuser is being dishonest and deceitful. Perhaps there are cases of blurred lines and grey-area, where both parties are coming to the table in good faith, but those would seem far-and-few between.

I think the best and only truly fair approach to these situations is to essentially say, "these accusations are a really serious matter and we'll take the word of both the accuser and the accused in good faith until the conclusion of an investigation and the discovery of evidence", while acknowledging that the situation is sad regardless; either someone has been sexually abused, or someone has been falsely accused of a heinous crime.

Dude, live in China for five years and you will come to HATE fireworks, especially around Chinese New Year (which lasts about a month). I was neutral before but learned to detest them quickly.

Not saying she doesn’t suck. Saying being blinded by disgust over a noble cause is more forgivable than being a felger or volin or Tomase who are ignorant for no reason other than ego.

Can't speak to her situation specifically but it's not unheard of for women to be abused multiple times by the same person, especially if they're an acquaintance and if it wasn't a really egregious case. Sometimes the lines are blurred between between exploitation and a bad sexual experience.

Including when the woman has to actively book a plane ticket and then fly to another state to meet her supposed abuser? Doubt it.

I agree with your entire post but wanted to highlight that last line, because I think it is something that is so brushed aside in our society.

I wish knowingly making a false accusation carried with it serious criminal punishment. But I also know doing so could scare legitimate grievances from being made public. So I don't have an answer other then to simply say it sucks.

But if in the end it turns out he is innocent, regardless of how creepy the dude seems to be, he didn't deserve this and the damage she will have done will have been irreparable.

The real problem is the way the media handles these situations and the court of public opinion. The balance in the system is that Brown can counter sue his accuser in a civil case. The problem comes from the fact that no one cares if he wins and it won’t be reported in the media. The system is balanced but media/people’s opinions aren’t.

They’re loud, and the whole thing gets old fairly quickly. Plus, there’s always that one idiot neighbor who’s always lighting them off at weird times in the middle of winter and stuff. That’s what finally did it for me.
