Marcus Cannon Injury Watch

Doesn’t that speak more to confidence in Karras than anything else? Unless he plays tackle as well.

I think a lot of folks were assuming that Ferentz over Bodine was a one-week situation, due to Bodine not having enough time to prepare for a backup role last night.

Yes, you are correct, I should have said "diagnostics imaging machine" and yet still not that great at detecting severity of damage when a significant amount of inflammation is present. We should know the results soon.

The one thing I am sure we can agree is that 2-3 week recover is our best hope.
I guess. I have no idea what his issue is.

For all we know he could be back next week

Three things are certain in life - death, taxes, and Cannon laying on his back at some point in the game with an injury.

Bodine would replace Ferentz, not Karras.

Miguel has the Pats being $1.8 million under the cap after Brown’s signing. Resigning Bodine at his original salary ($2.1 million)and releasing Ferentz ($733,000) would leave the Patriots with $400,000 of remaining cap space. I don’t think Bodine returns, but, if he does, it would be at a far lower salary than he was originally set to make.

Yup. I thought he was going to get carted off early in the game when Mason got tossed back onto his legs.

why?

Bodine resigning could mean we could slide Karras to LG and Thuney to RT.

What are the chances for Cannon getting IR'ed at this point?

I think that sometimes it takes a couple/few days to see the proper specialists and formulate a plan of recovery, especially if there’s travel involved for seeing guys like Dr.Andrews, etc, or even a difference in opinions, or need for another look (Andrews is just an example. I don’t believe that he deals with this type of injury, though I could be wrong).

If we don’t hear anything in the next 72 hours or so, I’ll take that as good news. I’m not sure that we’re there quite yet. In this case, our “good news” may be Cannon missing 4-6 games.

I think zero

I hope he ends up being inactive for a week then.. I can live with that
Supafly, is it because of the swelling? Asking bc Cannon issue is my only concern with Patriots at the moment

I think we would have heard something by now if he was going to IR.

I still don't know what he did. Dislocated shoulder? AC joint?

Last thing I read was his arm was in a sling and he was smiling.

Yesterday when asked BB on OMF didn't sound too concerned.

Not sure I ever remember BB sounding too concerned over any injured player.... ;););)

Speaking of AC joint, it reminds me of 2016 week 2. My cousin is a first assist for orthopedic surgery and one of the doctors he works with is in the fantasy football league. We were at his house for football that day, along with two other orthopedic surgeons. When they saw the replay of Jimmy going down hard on his shoulder, all three of them were agreeing "yep, that's an AC joint sprain." I start getting texts from friends asking if I thought Jimmy was ok. "Noooooo..........probably not."

not worried........the next 6-7 weeks play out like an extended preseason......need to get some snaps for the depth anyway

While I never want to over look a game @ Miami it is fair to say from an X and O stance we shouldn't need Cannon to beat any of the teams in the near future.

Dolphins, Jets, Bills , Redskins. NYG. No particularly good teams or pass rush units. The Jets and Bills probably are the best of them but neither I think has the makings of an elite unit this year. I could see the Jets being scarier in that respect next season potentially. The Redskins going by sacks their players get are good but I never had them impression of them having a great pass rush.

The Giants and Dolphins seem particularly bad.
