I’m glad you’re ok now.I was found to have blood clots in my right leg several years ago. Vascular surgeon said main thing was to stabilize to avoid clots going to your lungs which could result in an embolism and kill you. This sh*ts serious. He's not in a hospital just for observation.
Last plane ride I was on was for around 5 hours. I walked up and down the plane every hour because I was paranoid. I’m a tall guy so sitting on a plane is tough. People probably thought I was nuts.Plane trips are a risk factor as well
How old were you when this happened? They put me on Pradaxa for 6 months and had to wear compression sock. They stabilized and blood flow in vein improved. They never go away. Leg still swells if I sit for too long. I'm ok but it generally sucks.
Can't imagine what he's going through if already in his lungs. Thing is they don't know what causes them, anybody can get them.
Idk Dr. told me athletes get them, but you can also get them by sitting on a very long flight. Very scary. And someone who plays in one of the most physically intense positions in major professional sports is probably more susceptible than others.
In all honesty, with the new oral agents, if all goes well, he will be out of the hospital soon and he likely will feel well soon. So he probably will wonder about his career sooner than you think.Football is of no importance to David and his family right now.
Is it different that it is a clot in the lung vs elsewhere?Could be either - without an identifiable risk factor like surgery, treatment is longer. There are also congenital clotting disorders in a minority of cases.
Probably stared elsewhere and traveled to the lung. Typically the lower leg or pelvis. Is it different that it is a clot in the lung vs elsewhere?
Meaning in terms of cause and likelihood if recurrence?
My leg swelled up like a piece of ham. Went to Dr. who misdiagnosed and put me on steroids (he thought it was some type of cyst). After a week it got worse. PA girl sent me to get ultrasound. Once lab got results the lady told me I should go to ER asap.I’m glad you’re ok now.
What were your symptoms? I’m just curious and with all of the flying I do I am thinking about developing some psychosomatic symptoms.
40sHow old were you when this happened?
Definitely concerned. That’s a big loss if he’s out.
