I don't grasp the Darnold hype? Guy looked lost last season. He played decent occasionally, but that won't cut it in NFL.

RECENT NEWS
Sam Darnold Strong In Preseason Opener
Sam Darnold completed 4-of-5 pass attempts for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' preseason loss to the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:
Darnold is picking up right where he left off. He had the highest QBR in the NFL in the month of December last year, and is a prime breakout candidate. As the youngest QB to start in NFL history, he can be forgiven for not lighting it up right away. Darnold's biggest concern for fantasy purposes is a weak supporting cast, so he cannot be considered in the range with the QB1 candidates. However, in Superflex/2QB leagues, he's a great second option late in drafts.

The Jets offense is going to surprise people this season, and it's not going to be because of their ground game (28th rated o-line [prior to the new LG and Center]). Sam Darnold is a good NFL QB, and I expect him to take a step forward this season. He was PFF's 2nd rated QB from week 11 on last season, as he was able to increase his completion percentage, and throw just one interception after returning from his ankle injury. Sam now has Anderson/Enunwa/Crowder as his receivers, with Bell in the backfield and sophomore breakout candidate Chris Herndon at TE (once he returns from suspension). That's a dangerous group, and makes Darnold a realistic option in superflex leagues. I probably wouldn't want him to be my only QB in a 12 team single QB league...but he doesn't have to be with how late he's going. Watch him over the first few weeks, and keep his name in mind as a streaming option at points this season.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I know Sam sucks. It's just these crazy fools who think otherwise. ;)

The first honest post you have made since March 24, 2015. I'm going to print that out and put it on my wall.

Glad you came out on the right end of that. Take care of yourself now.

I need to get back to exercising, and re-double my attempts to stop eating things. I'll have to make it to 106 to laugh at the inevitable super-bowl-free century for the JEST.

Just go cryo and enjoy the millennial celebration.

actually catching up while eating a bowl of steamed snap peas that are really, really not extra hot buffalo wings with bleu cheese to hold down the fire.

Brother, I know and live the struggle.

I should really not eat anything at the Iowa State Fair either. My mom said anybody can grow up to be president, she was wrong. Your window closes when you refuse to eat anything deep fried.

Iowa State Fair? Brother, you have not lived until you've had a deep-fried pork tenderloin sandwich. Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. The fritter always is bigger than the bun ... with pickles, onions and mustard. Damn, Iowa is the only place you can get those things.

and the Jersey Swamp is the only place you can be overcome by green swamp gas, mutated and reborn as a Jete fan...

Yeah, but the problem is you have to go to Iowa.

Plant based food actually tastes better after you make the transition and do it for a while. I simply can't eat heavy, greasy stuff anymore. Its remarkable how the body adapts and starts to prefer what's good for it. Hang in there with the peas. And you can still use hot sauce, right?

I've pretty much transitioned. I have "meat brain" that I can call on for memories, and "eat brain," I guess, that tells me what really is good. It's just choices. I haven't smoked a cigarette since sept. 18 2018 when I had the MI, and the doc who put in the stent said that my big risk factor.... even tho I have a lot of extra pounds etc.... was smoking. Of course, thats just him looking at labs and saying, meh, not super high cholestrol. Prolly missed the role of stress, you can cake your arteries pretty well with calcium if I understand that correctly... who knows.

But main thing is, I thot it would be hard to quit, I didnt really quit. I just got home, saw the cigarettes all over the house, and they just looked like pain and death. The Mrs. still smokes. I've had a drag off hers maybe once a month, and I always feel like "God damn that's a stupid thing for me to do."

Same with "meat brain." They've got me on a statin, so I'm pretty much covered if/when I decide to eat like it's Iowa (my cholestrol is hereditarily low,) but in trying to keep down my calories I realize just how efficiently red meat turns other calories into concentrated calories.

I'm not a paragon but I have to say, I do way more of looking at a steak on TV that looks like just the perfect steak and thinking, yeah I gotta get one of those again one day, than I do "missing steak." The snap peas really are good. They're just 2 different kinds of good, and 1 is better for you, and I got old enough to care.

Here's the "I'm not a saint part": still sedentary, still prolly eat too many carbs, still overweight. Don't go thinkin' I'm a plant-based hero. But I've cut out 90+ % of meat products. Yeah, veggie patties, vegetable "crumbles," etc. But I agree w you, I ate the last of the snap peas, and I'm not thinking I need to order a steak to grill, I'm thinking I need more snap peas.
