The only reason i say this is that for years ive read and heard that the reason for the pats success is brady, its more brady than BB.
It really just depends who they’re trying to bring down. If they’re anti-Brady, they’ll say BB is more important, and vice versa.

I think the snap counts and when they occured tell you the story of who is ahead in the WR competition.

Edelman and Harry are obvious locks. Dorsett only played 1-2 series (12 snaps) before getting the rest of the day off which implies he is firmly cemented in as WR3. The other three (Berrios ~ 40 snaps, Meyers ~40 snaps and Harris ~59 snaps) are fighting for the other 2 spots with Inman (20 late snaps) and rest on the outside looking in.

Again I think it is pretty obvious how most of the spots will shake out with 1 out of Berris, Meyers and Harris losing out. That is until Meredith, DT and Gordon become available (if they become available).

I agree, but one variable is they know what Dorsett is, thus less need to play him. I read this as still 3 out of 4 with Dorsett included and maybe having the early inside track.

The obvious cut is Berris, except for punt returns. Even still he catches the ball incorrectly. I doubt they stand for that. It's an accident waiting to happen.

Right now I believe Meyers is getting the most reps with the starters. IMO that gives him equal status to Dorsett for the moment.

Also I am not completely impressed with Harris. It's like he's a different Dorsett level player. At least there's upside with Meyers. Harris & Dorsett are what they are.

I agree, but only BB has a better chance of proving hes more responsable. Bradys career is going to end in the next few years, BB can coach for the next ten years if he wants.

If they win 8 or more games I think he definitely coaches them next year.

If they win 6/7 games but there's a major injury he might get one more year depending on how much the Lions brass thinks he's making the right culture changes.

If they win less games than last year he's probably on the hot seat. A lot of it also depends on how they lose those games, obviously.
Don't get to excited. No stafford or Johnson or James or Hockenson or Daniels or Flowers , and who knows who else.

With Harris I always get back to how fans overrate preseason games relative to practices because that's really the only window into whats going on most of us get.

Harris seems to have impressed most of the beat guys in the first few weeks so I am giving him some credit for that even though I personally have not seen it.

Anybody who thinks this team will suck when brady leaves is sadly mistaken. They will continue to be a fundamentally sound competitive football team as long as BB is coaching this team.

I don't think they'll suck without Brady, but the next QB is not going to go to the SB half the time and win it two out of every three times, with or without Belichick.

I was at work and missed the game so can someone tell me why Gost and Dawson got thumbs down from Reiss - or should I guess? Missed field goal(s) and burned for receptions/TDs?

Ghost missed another layup....

They'll either keep both or just Stidham if he's come along enough. We already know what we have in Hoyer.

Agree ....That was one of best games that Hoyer has played in career....I agree with you that if Stidham continues to progress well I could see them cut Hoyer and use that roster spot to keep another WR or D personnel

Running game was Bolden and LSU kid got the game...NO MICHEL!

Williams showed some flashes of brilliance agree that Dawson struggled...

No word yet on Lacosse....Harry with mild Hamstring strain and will be fine......being really negative here

Stidham played with incredible poise, awareness and patience and deserves a ton of credit and respect....He threw well last night..he will continue to work on mechanics and should become a great NFL QB

Gost missed another kick.....really struggling and inconsistent!

If you can’t see a ton of progress and potential from this game...you must be one really negative person

I see a lot of issues, not thrilled. Not sure what you guys were watching.

—Running game was anemic. Teams will pin their ears back and kill Brady. OL not getting it done.

—Williams and Dawson trending seriously downward.

—Harry & LaCosse already banged up. Anybody else? Gonna be one of those years looks like.

—Harris had more drops than catches, or close to. His early flashes in camp are a distant memory.

—Stidham’s release time is atrocious. Actual NFL teams won’t let him camp out forever.

—Gostkowski missed a kick. Of course. Because that’s what he does.

And so on. Not to mention the meaningless final score might actually convince these guys they’re good so they won’t take coaching well. Could be it’s actually downhill from here. Look for Belichick to make a move to shake things up.

I think the excessive runs had more to do with evaluating the second layer of O-linemen. With Burkhead, White, Michel, Harris not playing Boldin certainly took a good percentage of the carries
Good point - the line managed to look good, especially in pass protection and the “Skipper” held his own at LT.

...What a luxury to be confident about the secondary even without Dawson and Williams being contributors and only really having TE and LT to be concerned about.
I'm still concerned about WR. Harris is who he is; Inman actually looked better as a pass-catcher than Harris did, but he missed a couple of blocks that should not have made Bill happy; Harry is walking in bubble-wrap right now; and Barrio & Gunner have the look of kids who need to grow their game on the PS.

We cannot rely on those young men until they actually suit up. A bird in the hand is > 100 in the air.
I thought that a bird in the hand...will get your hand messy?

Leg whip was a bad call. There's no way you can deduce whether Ferentz lifted his leg up on purpose. Looks like he just fell to the ground.

Punt @ 9:36 left in the 3rd qtr. Dawson playing personal protector laid a rusher out that was engaged with Christian Sam with his forearm to the head/neck aea . Certainly looked nice. No idea if that is legal?

I'm going to stay on the fence as to how well the team has done. This Crosby offensive tackle really stunk it up. Lot of success came against him. We'll see how the team does against the Titans.

Yeah, but Cooks catches more balls than Dorsett. I get that Dorsett has experience, but don’t tell me replacing his production would be hard.

He had some big catches in the playoffs. Didn't get a lot of touches after Gordon came over in the. regular season. Make or break year I guess but he may be 5th on the depth chart again.

Fair enough, Captain -- there are plenty of downside possibilities at this stage. But, compared with what we saw, say, last pre-season -- the Devin Luciens and the Riley McCarrons -- it's night and day.

Of course, it's going to need to be, given the Gronk-shaped hole at tight end. But I'm going to look on the bright side.

I was especially impressed by Berrios, given that I think a lot of people have been wishing him into a role on little evidence. As for Olszewski, I agree -- but it wouldn't surprise me if another team nabbed him off the PS.

Maybe it ends up being Thuney LT, Froholdt LG...
Where’s Wynn going to play? I suppose they could ease him in with backup reps on the left side as well as RT, but it’s not what you’d expect from your first draft pick.

Hard to tell as he hasn't even played a snap in 2019, let's wait until the 3rd preseason game to see if he has any viability.....

He is a sophomore in the "Dante School of Lineman"... the jury is still out.
