There are so many variables that go into player evaluation. I'd not put too much stock in:
- What the Media is reporting (they only can view practice the same way we do and they CANNOT watch every player...anyone who has gone to TC before knows this).
- The number of receptions/targets/drops a receiver has (sometimes it depends on who is being watched, who the QB is reading, which personnel grouping we are practicing with, injury status of other WR's, level of competition said WR is facing....etc..)
Only the position coaches and BB really know where everyone stands. These guys watch film with the knowledge of what each player's assignment was. They see players in the training room, meeting rooms, and etc.... the Media will never have that kind of access. We will not know anything concrete until the 3rd preseason game vs. the Panthers, IMO.
