I just read Thomas did not take part. I thought I read somewhere he was at least running......must be all this excitement is too much for me.

There is a video a page back that shows him running. He is progressing and the team is clearly careful with him.

Jakobi Meyers needs to become one of my clients.

The last few seconds:

Here's the thing about Meyers that I'd be worried about. He sounds like a guy who might be able to thrive against zone coverages, but struggle greatly vs good man coverages.

So with DThomas, and JGordon sitting in the wings, he's a nice camp story.

Gordon is not sitting in the wings. If everything goes exactly as it has in the past with Goodell then Josh will wait another about 55-57 days until he gets news about a potential reinstatement and if that comes back in his favor in all likelihood he will still be suspended a couple more weeks.

Also Meyers looks like the ideal understudy to take over the swiss army knife role that Dorsett has had the last two years. If anything I'd be more worried for Harris in the context of DT and JG.

Now Meyers obviously has still a hard road in front of him but so far he has pretty much nailed camp.

Gordon's story is complicated.

Where are you getting that from? Not saying you're wrong, I just haven't heard that before.

He's been quiet the last few days. I don't think he has a legit shot to make this team TBH. To me Meyers is ahead of him as he has been more consistent and has more upside as he is a rookie.

Harris has been in the league for 3 years and is yet to accomplish much. That isn't a good sign. He would need to have a consistently awesome camp to make it and he just isn't having that.

Actually IMO i think it's just the opposite. He had a fantastic mini and start of training camp and it's my belief the coaches are giving him a break to see what the other guys can do. This is why Meyers is now shinning. When all things are equal...Harris is the one accomplishing more. That actually happens often...in fact the coaches did the same to Meyers on Friday I believe. The coaches need to know what they have with all WR's and it's my belief they are good with Harris already.

If Harris does nothing in pre-season...then I am concerned.

That's the one "Thomas looking good"......I automatically extended that to being in pads and taking part.....wow at this rate I could be picking next year's team before the draft......my mistake

Its been mentioned several times by several people who are there (real media guys) that he has been the standout WR in camp.

Good to hear you pay attention...as usual

It's a matter of time before Berrios has a red jacket.

He's been good and very good at times this camp. Overall it has been pretty consistent. That doesn't constitute 'consistently awesome' which is the term I used.

Him having any slow days or less than great days is a bad sign for him. Also he needs to do it all of camp. Even if what he has done so far did qualify (which I would I argue it doesn't for the term I used) he would need to do it all through camp to stick.

If you think Harris is doing so well would you like to make a bet contingent on him making the 53?

It's just an observation from one TC visit where I watched him fairly closely (the one where he "broke out"), so I'm certainly not a Jacobi Meyer's expert. The rest of it comes logically from some of the scouting done and his combine stats.

He's not going to outrun people with is 4.6 speed, and he's not going to out quick them with his 7.1 3 cone. So to me his assets are his hands, ball tracking, and route running abilities. Those are the skills that usually do best against zone coverages and struggle against pure man. Another clue was his 11-12ypc in college. So he clearly he's been an underneath receiver his entire career as a WR. Hard to believe that will change in the pros.

Like I said, he's a nice camp story who has overachieved expectations and will likely make the September roster (barring injury). However the Pats have 3 guys (Meridith, Gordon, and Thomas) in the wings, any one of whom could make Meyer's stay with the team a short term event.

He has been the BEST WR in camp and by a good measure. Unless all the reporters and the reception numbers are lying/wrong. I guess if nobody should make the roster unless they are "consistently awesome" then the pats will have no WR

Outside of today...he has had the most receptions 11-on-11...

Phil Perry - another joke.

"Trey Flowers is fresh off signing a massive contract in Detroit — one the Patriots simply would never approach”
The Pats avoided this for good reason. Why pay a guy who led the league in unblocked pressures, yet muster only 6.5 sacks out of that? He was a product of BB’s scheme. And why overpay for Flowers when you could trade for someone who’s actually better than him for at least a year or two and way cheaper (Bennett)?

The Pats train keeps moving. Flowers will be an afterthought soon enough. The only loss that will linger will be BB and Tom Brady.
