2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

Can’t say I agree with that.
How many goals did they score 5-5 all series? Maybe three or four? In 7 games!

For the most part, the top line was invisible, and even guys like Krejci and DeBrusk were pretty much non-existent. Coyle had a goal or two. Basically, Rask carried them to game 7.

Pastarnak and Kreji each had 1 goal in game 6. I believe the Bruins top 2 lines had a total of 3 points 5 on 5 in this series.

Debrusk had a really bad playoffs in general. Just did not seem to be impactful - when you thought he might take a step up this year. But it happens. Good players have bad series all the time.

Pastranak stunk. He was pretty bad. How many times did we see him whiff on a shot, or take poor angled attempts? He sucked. The problem was that there were many others who were playing just as bad, if not worse.

I think the issue was that no one else stepped up in place of these guys, aside from a strong effort by the 4th line.

I think the highlights of this series were Bruins PK and PP, Tuukka Rask, and the play of the 4th line. Who else did anything? As someone else mentioned, we’re probably lucky it even went to 7 games.

Pains me to say the better team won.

SL dominated on the boards, dominated face offs, Dominated the time of possession. They smothered Marchand to the point Marchand gave up going into the corners and his reverse game was a non factor...which crushed the fortunes of the rest of his line. SL clogged the middle of their defensive zone and their stick work was exceptional.
Their 5 v5 defensive game was as effective as those great NJ Devil teams that didn’t give up goals (zone trap....boring but effective).
Sure SL was Thuggish at times and the refs had their money on SL.... still... they outplayed Boston the majority of the time.
Very disappointing... but understandable

Without the 4th line and offense from defensemen, we would not have sniffed the SCF. The top 2 lines just did not score goals.

Wonder what hurts more for Boston sports fans. Tonight or SB 52. I'm talking about in the moment. Obviously SB 52 may not hurt as much anymore because of SB 53.

Congrats to the Blues.

They were due.

I didn’t think that it was terribly noticeable until the finals, but that’s just me. It was glaring during the past 7 games, though.

wonder what captain has to say?

The Eagles SB, because the Pats lost to a backup QB in a game where Brady was stellar and threw for 500 ****ing yards. This is half expected from this Bruins team - they are chokers.

Blues up 4-0 wow.

Had a bad feeling when the B's would win blowouts then lose multiple 2-1 games. Always a bad sign.

He did but I think we'll find out he was hurt, something was way off with his game.

I think a worse sign was the inability to win back-to-back games. Effing bummer, man.

We saw him favoring his hand on the bench at one point, although who knows if that’s related? Probably can’t help, though.

Pats winning SB 52 would've made them back to back champions, likely lead to a 3-peat, and would've given Brady the most dominant, clutch QB performance in NFL history .

The place of the Patriots and Brady in NFL history is unassailable as is. You really can’t be greater than the greatest.

If the Bruins could have scored first it may have gone differently. Marchand had 3 feet of open net and shot it into Binnington. Oh well guess we cant win em all.
that was an awful shot. I knew once the goons scored it was over. especially the way it happened. the bruins were pounding the blues net. and got nothing. then 1 shot by the blues and in the net. that just kills the spirit of a team. it was a backbreaker.
