I’m annoyed with myself that it still bugs me they didn’t get Humphries. Would have been a perfect fit here.

Do not understand the reluctance to put Dorsett in the lock category. Yes « with BB, anything can - and often does - happen ». But I think the locks are Harry, Edelman, Dorsett, Slater.
They never lost when he was on the team.Patriots HOF or nah?
I don’t think we’ve seen his ceiling. We saw him long stretches on the bench during the failed Gordon experiment. I fully understand that Josh & BB see him in practice and they are excellent evaluators, but I think Dorsett can have his best year yet in 2019.
My expectations for Berrios have dropped considerably after I read a report by one of the more respected beat writers. So it wasn't Ben Volin. When comparing Berrios with Edelman in his first full year with the Pats, he said when they saw Edelman early in camp, he still didn't have a clear position, but his quickness and athleticism POPPED. They knew Bill would find a position for him and he ended up being an overnight success, FOUR years in the making. He went on to say that they never saw that "pop" from Berrios even when he was healthy.
It's for THAT reason that I really wanted the Pats to draft Isobella (I never expected him to go so high) or some other really quick and explosive guy. I don't have any real confidence that we have a pure Jules replacement on the roster
OTOH it could mean that in the future the Pats will change that aspect of their offense and go to the longer, but less explosive slot man. looking at that list of potential WR's there a LOT of length, especially if Gordon and DT come back healthy.
Edelman, Dorsett, Harry are locks assuming health. Thomas will likely start the year on the injury list and provide a mentor for Harry on how to play big in the NFL.
Berrios is about as close to a lock as I can find among the young guys, he is a very talented slot guy a year into the system. Jakobi Meyers is a physical David Given type, not amazing in any one area but good in all, he is still a longshot but I give him a fighting chance.
Gordon is the Pats chasing ghosts, even if he provides for a while he'll eventually let them down, maybe at a very bad time. Sounds cynical I know, but history isn't on his side...

Dorsett, if he has a similar TC to his 4 previous TCs, is Not losing his spot on the 53 to Meyers and Especially to the "very talented" Barrio, who to be blunt is simply Not an NFL player.Dorsett will have to have the mother of all TC's to be considered a lock. Because if t-rex arms Braxton Berrios and Jakobi Meyers plays well from the Slot I think both make it.
Dorsett won a job last year beating out Kenny Britt along with others who many said were better, he led the Pats in postseason TD's... his job is safe assuming health.Dorsett will have to have the mother of all TC's to be considered a lock. Berrios is talented and was productive in college, funny how nobody mentions Tyreek Hill, Antonio Brown or other similar sized WR's when discussing "t-rex" length arms.
Is there any question? I'd be surprised if the Patriots weren't making plans to retire his number as we speak.
