AAF suspends football operations

They could call it the International League of United States Football. Or something similar to that maybe.
What about the Anti-National Association League?

lol! Cynthia Frelund is a little butthurt! And she has the audacity to use the word clickbait! ***** that's what you do with your articles! Hypocrite much?

Who?

Oh well....I was MILDLY enjoying the Fleet games before the team dropped 2 games behind a playoff berth with 2 games left to play....(shrugs)...

We are onto the XFL......McMahon sold some WWE stock and plans to finance it for at least 3 seasons...we will see.....

You don't really believe that league is ever going to happen, do you?
Unlikely to succeed. But not impossible. This type of league needs to thrive and not be corrupted, our society depends on it!

In what way does our society depend on a highly unlikely football league thriving?

Are you ok with greed? are you ok with funding the corrupt 32's private playgrounds with taxpayers money? Ask Minnesota how that's working out for them right now.

This doesn't answer my question. First of all, greed is a universal human emotion so I'm not sure what asking me if I am "OK" with it has to do with anything. Secondly, being opposed to taxpayer money being used to subsidize NFL activities doesn't mean that one would therefore support the FFL (especially since the overtly political bent of that league means they will definitely be angling for government money soon enough).

I'm just not seeing here how this gimmick league improves (or for that matter harms) society in any way whatsoever.

Ok fine. But say no to public funding for any venture from the big 4 leagues. Is that so god damn hard?

I really think that if you're gonna have a football league, have it in the fall. Go head to head with the NFL and the NCAA and take your chances. No one gives a chit about football in March.

maybe it fits your schedule better lol

I'm looking for football that doesn't cater to ignorant casual fans with rule changes that hobble the defense in favor of all-passing high score nonsense. I am not at all happy with the current direction of the NFL game and would love an alternative. We'll see what the XFL does. Maybe it will be more to my taste.

Bert’s source is probably right but I don’t fault her for defending something she got in on the ground floor for and hoped would take off. I’d rather that than Rod Woodson saying “who cares no ones watching this crap anyways” into a hot mic coming back from a commercial break. If you’re going to do it, take some pride in it.

Not sorry in the least for guys like Polian and Dundon. Those two idiots deserve to fail together.

I do feel sorry for the players and coaches and team employees. A lot of guys viewed this league as a 2nd/last chance.

Somebody leaked the video of Polian earlier today...

Not so sure Dundon failed, turns out he may have carpetbagged the league to get the rights to the gambling app that came with. But yeah, screw Polian. Give it a year and he'll be on the record saying he knew it was going to happen. Dude has never been wrong, just ask him and he'll surely tell you

In cases where the benefits outweigh the costs, what’s wrong with public funding? Especially if said public supports funding.
