As I remembered early this off-season that he already had a ring (not even one of the first 5 names that comes to me when thinking of the 2013 Seahawks), knew it was a longshot he'd come here and honestly was a little less interested. When it comes to old vets I sometimes prefer the guy who's never won and is dying for his ring.

If you already have the ring, you're going to go for the big money on your last deal.

We had 16 million and a bunch of our own guys to resign first. We are an older team and need to get younger. We have a nice array of draft choices.

With that being said this was not going to be a free wheeling off season of veteran FA’s being signed under our present circumstances. We will pick up some second tier FA’s. We will play some of our draft choices from last year that went through the grooming process. We will pick our draft choices, some will play this year while some will get the Foxboro Flu while being groomed for the following years.

Bottom line: We will be in contention for another strong playoff run like we always are. This is how we do it
