2019 Combine

Free agency always transforms how we think about the draft. For sale, a Danny Shelton signing obviously affects Dexter Lawrence. A Jason McCourty signing probably makes me not consider CB until day 3 or even UDFA. And then of course there’s WR. We probably need three to four new WRs so a quiet FA at that position dictates how busy we’ll be in the draft obviously.

And then there’s the BB trade-a-palooza. Always fun to see which former first rounders BB trades for.

Shelton really disappointed me this season, I thought he would of had a bigger impact than he did. So unless he comes back for cheap or we get another guy like him for cheap I can see a Lawerence being the pick.

CB is a hard one as I don’t think this years class is as talented as previous years. I think Baker/Williams/ Bump and Run corners is what we will be looking for.

Amani Hooker is one that interests me as a Chung replacement. Good time.

I’m all over Lawrence, don’t get me wrong my concern is the seeming lack of Lawrence/Shelton type guys in this draft.

My man Redwine! Nice! And Savage runs like a corner. I mentioned him a few times -- he's the only hitter in the draft that I like as much as Abram. He smokes people.

Thornhill S1

Is Redwine good? Have never watched his film.

I'd have a tough time going that far. What do you like about him? To me he's very forgettable, but I'm far from getting everything right. ;)

I like Redwine, yeah. Redwine, Savage, and Mike Edwards round out my safety board after the big four in Abram, Rapp, CGJ, and Adderley. Redwine shows good coverage ability and some surprising instinct in the passing game. I like him as more of a deep cover guy, but he's got some slot upside.

He doesn't demolish people like Savage, but he's cleaner in coverage.

Good second run from Abram, but he still didn't beat Sweat. :p

There’s some fast safeties this year.

Definitely. On the average side, however, Khari Willis reminds me of a Patriot. He ran in the 4.5s, he's not the biggest, and he wasn't a consistent starter, but he was a team leader and will play special teams. Great character guy. I could see him as an Ebner type, not a starter.

Harris and Hooker making a lot of money for themselves. Good, versatile safeties who didn't have a lot of buzz but have solid and fairly consistent tape -- add in faster times than expected, and they might jump some of the bigger names. I figured they'd both be later round picks, but great times for them so far.

And Savage. If he can clean up his angles, then get him here ASAP. He plays with so much fire and I just absolutely love love love it.

TE/DT in first, WR/S in 2nd for me.

DJ with the Eric Weddle comp for Nasir Adderley. One of my favourite prospects so far.

Anyone look good in the drills? I think we may be looking at ST guys from the DBs this year!

Can’t wait for pro days/free agency/draft
Sutton Smith as a STer

Has a safety ever been the fastest guy at the combine?

Love Deebo. He’d be a great get if they don’t bring back Cordarrelle. Different sizes, and Deebo looks to be more accomplished as a strict WR, but I do get a Cordarrelle vibe from Deebo’s Game.

Yup Deebo is extremely versatile in his game, kick returns, sweeps, great route running. Positional flexibility is something that BB values so I think we might have a shot of seeing him in Patriots uniform if he lasts long enough.

Yup. I think he’s a perfect fit for the McDaniels offense.
