OT: Jump Ball Joe Flacco to the Broncos

Many will compare this to the jimmy G situation but Baltimore knew that Joe Flacco could not compete on a championship level anymore. If he could I’m sure they wouldn’t have traded him. The only thing is, he’s a much better passer than Jackson.

How is this in any way like the Garoppolo situation?

Veteran QB/Super Bowl winner v. young QB/promising but untested. Of course the huge difference is that Flacco is unambiguously at the end of his career.

Elway channeled his inner Belichick on this one. He did some serious digging in the crates and dusted off a classic Joe Gibbs scheme. This is Mark Brunnell/Patrick Ramsey Duo 2.0. Case Keenum in the Brunnell role does just enough to keep the team within a score and Joe Flacco gets the Patrick Ramsey cannon arm Hail Mary attempt at the end of the game to seal the deal.

You guys are sleeping on the new AFC West champs right now. Bookmark this post.

Brady is GOAT playing at unprecedented level past 40. Garoppolo looking like a sure thing for long-term replacement and appears to have all-pro form. Favre/Rodgers and Montana/Young are two good comparisons.

Flacco sucks and the only question by many is how badly Jackson sucks. Can he possibly suck so badly the Ravens wish they’d just kept Flacco under a restructured deal? I’m thinking very real possibility. Both QBs are so rotten-milk-like unappealing to everyone outside of Baltimore. The team pumping up Jackson is the same team that made Flacco the league’s highest player then extended him despite consistently terrible play.

Broncos considered Foles before settling on Flacco

Horse Face: More career snaps a big factor; discusses “value” on why Flacco a better choice than Foles.

This idiot did the same thing last year with Keenum, ignoring the elephant in the room, which is none of this matters if the QB is below a certain line required for NFL success.

Reminds me of Drew Bledsoe to the Buffalo Bills

.

The Chiefs have a solid Team the Chargers can compete the Raiders are playing for real next year. Desperation move by Elaway if you ask me. :D

Keenum has gotten a bad rap about last year. He put up just about his career averages, despite the Broncos losing multiple OL and both starting WRs. Give Flacco that same situation and Broncos fans will be pining for the good old days of 2018.

That's not saying much. Jackson's body of work in 2018 leads one to the conclusion that most starting quarterbacks are better passers. He has a very large amount of work to do there. I was surprised that Baltimore stuck with him. He was a project but I guess they're hoping he can learn on the fly.

With their stats being just about even career wise it must have the jump balls that generate PI that lead to this. Nobody does it better then jump ball Joey.

Don't get all the Elway criticism. Dude managed the team to 2 Super Bowls and won 1. How many other teams would take that? Flacco has a stronger arm than Keenam. Much better suited for Mile High.

It's the "how" that undermines the "what" in the eyes of many. He got there in 2011, which was just in time to get Peyton manning and Von Miller. But he hasn't been able to find the Manning successor (Did you know that Time Tebow is the only QB in NFL history that was drafted by the Broncos and won a playoff game for them?) and his drafting has been spotty. His selection of Vance Joseph doesn't help, either.
