1 21(21) Laurence Maroney RB MINNESOTA

has the ability to become the best RB in this class of 06 but has a way to go. Saint, Colts, Jaguars and even Titans would all prop up their candidate in against Maroney. Can he handle a 300 carry 1400 yard season physically? This team will allow him to get those stats if he plays 14 games

2 4(36) Chad Jackson WR FLORIDA

sky is the limit but did BB really go after 4 wideouts this offseason if he expected CJ to contribute anything in 2007? More tragically, missed two consecutive training camps and also gave the team the false comfort in 06 of his projected contribution level when letting Branch go without in-season replacement

3 22(86) David Thomas TE TEXAS

high potential but has 1 great game which accounts for 80% of his stats. And that will be the 11.5 months from now

4 9(106) Garret Mills FB TULSA

hard to make this team behind 4 TEs but can he make a mediocre team and play?

4 21(118) Stephen Gostkowski PK MEMPHIS

Grade: A. Just get some lift under the ball kid!

5 3(136) Ryan O'Callaghan OT CALIFORNIA

forced to start last year and was probably not ready. Long term health issues here? Almost counts as 3rd TE taken in first 5 picks this draft based on 2007 utilization

6 22(191) Jeremy Mincey DE FLORIDA

non factor

6 36(205) Dan Stevenson OG NOTRE DAME
non factor

6 37(206) Le Kevin Smith DT NEBRASKA
does he make this team if not for tragedy in LA this offseason?

7 21(229) Willie Andrews RS BAYLOR
not really sure what the future holds for him

Good breakdown of it, it will be interesting to go back to it in 2009. There's still a lot of potential here. After seeing what Sammy Morris is capable I feel okay if they're handling Maroney with kids gloves. One guy I really like is Willie Andrews, he basically caught Hobbs from behind on his record kick return, the guy has wheels and did a fine job covering Antonio Gates in last years playoff game. And technically you should probably count Pierre Woods who also seems to be brimming with potential. The jury's still out on this class but I still think we got a solid handfull of guys who (when they can get on the field) can play.

The 06 draft looks like a block buster compared to 07... of course their is the whole Moss and Welker thing, but ultimately some young players have to stick so the cap doesn't get busted. Losing a first rounder next year hurts as well.

Oh well, BB prefers his vets and who can argue.

This class will either be terrible, or great. So far there has been little production from anyone - but there is a ton of potential.

And that was after he got knocked to the ground by one of the JESTs!

Smith and Andrews are late-round successes. Just JAGs, I suspect, but that's a success as late as they were drafted.

Somebody actually say "If they get Maroney 300 carries..."?

I really don't see that. 54 carries through 4 games... and I don't see him getting 20 carries in week 5, either, if he plays at all.

And don't say "except for the injury..." either. He's not likely to suddenly be injury free, and the team won't immediately treat him as such. We're looking at a 200-carry pace.

That's fine by me, if a tiny bit disappointing... but again I don't see 300 carries.
