Maybe I'm an oddball in that I'm able to sleep like a baby the night before Super Bowls. It's the early afternoon, day of, where the nerves start to kick in for me, and I'm tense the entire game. If the Pats win, I'll be up late watching highlights on NFL Network and reading reactions online. If they lose, the key turning points will replay in my head as I toss and turn trying to sleep. Either way I'm not getting a lot of sleep tomorrow so I better enjoy it tonight while I can.
I love that no matter how many times this team reaches the Super Bowl, we get older as people but the feeling never gets old. It's been 22 years since I got my first taste of a Pats Super Bowl appearance, and I feel just as excited now as I did then, and every time since then. I'm still amazed that we have this game to look forward to given how this season was looking before. I'm just so grateful, every time, and always. Anxious about this game, but in a good way.
Edit - Well, that was one of the worst nights of sleep I’ve had prior to a Super Bowl. My fault for staying up so late.
