2019 post-season games (UPDATE: Senior Bowl week)

SOME SHRINE THOUGHTS

So who do you have as next Pat after the game? ;)
Its hard to take much from this games but still - a few notes:

Rypien confirmed he's intriguing prospect in a weak class and looked like he could develop in quite solid NFL backup QB while Ta'amu confirmed he's too easily startled.

Up and down WR play like with most of this class. Pointdexter could be an intersting UDFA pick. I wonder if he could develop some blocking @Los? haven't seen much of K.Johnson in the game - did you?

Most PTP player to me is Gaillard. I liked him before, easily best OL out there, had great game vs Alabama, seems consistent. Andrews is still young but i wouldn't mind another dog in the house esp. since Karras doesn't seem to be much improving..

Udoh and Tyler Jones made the case for them to be drafted it seemed.

There was a lot of hype about big man Mack but again he seemed to have serious problems with balance (like our boy Shelton) and that's against average at best OL. I wouldn't mind another brother pair in NE but with Adam Butler further improving the focus should be on bigger tackles..

Good job by edge guys talking opportunity going against weak tackles. Brailford was a beast . K. Phillips and Markus Jones could make PTP considerations though..

Of the LBs i was quite impressed with Watson and Holcomb, Hollins played well as well . from Pats draft pov Blunt could be the most intriguing as a hybrid/star option and ST star..

Wingard had a good game, wasn't to impressed w his film before but will go back to him, Hartage had a very good showing, Holloman as well and most of all the late comer Wilkins who could be the next Butler, JC...

I know its on to Senior Bowl but id love to read some of your final Shrine thoughts...

What’s his size like? Never heard of him but if he’s being coached by Randy you can most definitely say Cris Carter will be involved with some of it
He's tiny, 5'8 but he's really good at what he does. Great at utilizing his skills & makes the game work for him. Great r/r. Moss news is fantastic.
*Edit* I think Hunter & Andy prob are two of the best at breaking off their routes, making everything look the same & both hands are legit. They won't go high but no reason those two can't contribute in a big way in the right spot.

You pretty much summarized everything I was thinking, although I'm still not sold on Brailford (size concerns) and I am probably higher on Hollins than most. Like Gaillard a lot.

Good reservations about Mack. I think he needs to improve a bit, but he could be a good value pick, depending on how high he goes. Nice little look at some of his flash plays here: Getting The Call: Daylon Mack Gets His Senior Bowl Shot - The Draft Network

Man I wish I could've been down there but life won't allow it unfortunately. Seems like the weather is not helping much either. Love Risner. @long distance brought up Gaillard, love him as well but I think Risner is right there at the top of the PTP list?

More positive Penny Hart feedback.

Wide Receivers

Andy Isabella is this week’s “Shake and Bake” wide receiver. He has the best control of the shake move and head fakes of any receiver on the field. It’s a pretty skill that freezes opponents in coverage. Combine that shake with the scorching hot afterburners of his speed and Isabella turns cornerbacks into cooked pork chops.

Andy Isabella footwork

If I have a concern with Isabella it’s the amount of movement required to earn separation. These are pretty routes but there are YouTube vids of collegiate stars and pro players running these move-intensive routes with moderate production at best in the league.

He has a verbose game that’s impressive. Sometimes a succinct game is better.

This is where Penny Hart could be a better pro. His game is efficient, linear, and intimidating acceleration off the line, through his breaks, and transitioning to a runner.

Matt Waldman’s RSP Senior Bowl North Roster Practice Reports: Day 1

Penny Hart, Georgia State

Hart is undersized, but foot quickness is a blur. That short-area speed helped him separate from slot corners and safeties throughout his entire practice today, but especially during one-on-ones. Though he has an obvious lack of length, he showed real confident ball skills today. Hart is a versatile piece with kick and punt return experience, giving him four-down capability at the next level.

One guy i'm struggling to see why teams want him, is Hakeem Butler. He doesn't show me anything special on tape.

I have been looking at some WR's

  • Riley Ridley - Quicker than he looks, solid hands, VG RR
  • Parris Campbell - Solid overall
  • David Sills - Reminds me of Cooper Kupp!
  • Dredirck Snelson - Vertical Threat
  • Darius Slayton - Fluid, Vertical Threat

Khalen Saunders.. is a monster. Just watched some tape of him, does anyone know how he's been performing?

Not bad, but I think he's going to have limitations at the next level. His balance and length leave a lot to be desired, and only one of those can really be corrected. ;)

I think Ledbetter isn't getting enough hype. Very clean DL.
