2 regular season big losses vs 2 HCs who know the Pats inside and out.Got blown out twice this year by marginal teams. In terms of playoffs, go back to the last time they were in the playoffs with a record worse than 12-4. They got positively throttled by Baltimore at home in 2009
I doubt the final score is especially lopsided but it’s certainly possible given this team’s inconsistency and awful run D. This is certainly the least talented and worst overall performing team they’ve had since the last time they got crushed. The worst team before that, 2005, got thoroughly outplayed although the loss was “only” 14 points.
Saying “these games are always close” is misleading when most Brady/Belichick Pats teams have been much better than this one. This team, based on talent and regular season performance, is much more 2005 or 2009 than 2007 or 2016. Doesn’t mean they can’t beat LA, but you should at least consider similar teams in the Belichick era when making statements like “they’re always close”
A bad playoff loss 10 years ago does not help your cause.
