I made the mistake of turning on my radio as I went out for lunch today.

I then tuned in to Colin Cowherd (second mistake).

I then didn't change the channel when he brought on his guest, Rob Parker (3rd mistake).

What I learned from that sage (Rob Parker) is that the Patriots are the 8th best of the 8 remaining playoff teams, that LA is a lock. However, he does not rule out the chance that somehow, some way, the Patriots might win if Tom Brady continues to be the luckiest player on Earth, a guy who just happens to stumble upon success over and over again.

My blood pressure rose more than it ought to. Man, I hate Rob Parker. He assured us in 2013 that Brady was done and he'd never sniff another Super Bowl, and yet he is all over the airwaves. Why? I guess hating the Patriots, irrationally, is good for ratings.

Someone needs to tell Rob Parker he is the luckiest sports broadcaster on earth for still having a job after being wrong about Brady for so many years.

Rob Parker is a hater. I hope his rants are played on an endless loop at the Home locker room at Gillette.

Man we always have to be the evil empire! Just look at this **** the chefs fans concocted. Apparently we're Mordor...o_O

We are Mordor? Belichick is Sauron?

Foxboro is Mount Doom? OMG that's brilliant.

I don't know about you guys, but I relish the villain role. Let them hate us.

About five years ago I finally gave up on sports talk radio, and i was instantly a happier person.

It's a debate with no end, no purpose, and no necessity. I'll read analysis online, but listening to Frank from wherever yell into his landline phone about how we're undervaluing a free agent does not improve my life in any way. I don't walk away more informed, and I don't walk away feeling good about listening to it.

If there was a "you're my new hero" icon to put on this post, I'd absolutely do it! It's only January but this may be the most accurate post of the year :), well done!

The Evil Empire...Mordor...Murder...The Most Hated Team...
And to think we knew them when they were the little team that couldn't

Why 2TD? If Gloom and doom is coming let's loose by 5-6TD.

In New England gloom and doom is always near.

I think some of the analysis just applies either a doleful or inflated standard to the Patriots. A sportswriter recently said that he could find no statistics to support the Pats being better than the Chargers. Not true. Another said there was no position where the Patriots were better than the Chargers. Again, not true. Brady isn't great anymore. Edelman isn't as good as Allen. Gronkowski is finished. And so it goes.

Quite honestly, idk why any Pats fan would hate Colin Cowherd. He’s usually pretty rational & always honest. We may not always agree, but it is what it is. He’s not a homer (Seattle) in any sense. (I.E- He picked Dallas last week because they were/are the better team.) He just goes with what his eyes tell him. I’ve been listening to him consistently for about 8 years now. I’ve always appreciated his content. He’s usually 80-85% pro-Patriot (not that I care about that). If he “senses” something about the Pats that doesn’t seem right, he expresses it. That doesn’t mean he’s right; just expressing how he feels at the moment based off of logic, data & history. No, I don’t agree with everything he says, but that’s the case with anybody. For example, last year when all that negative news about TB/BB, he was pretty spot on. Not about the retirement stuff, but in regards to there being “an issue.” That was correct. Just because we may not want to hear something, doesn’t make it false. NOW, if you wanna talk about someone who’s just a complete idiot, hater, illogical & frankly stupid; then Rob Parker is your guy. I’ve only heard him make sense when it relates to baseball. Colin’s a FAARRR cry from Rob Parker.

I'm not really nervous. This team has done the unthinkable to me......shake my confidence. I am always rooting hard for our guys but a loss at any point won't hurt like past years because the homer shades have come off this year. With that said, I do think we win and win easily this upcoming weekend. It also helps that Gordon is banged up.

Win or lose.....NE came back from 28-3 IN THE SB. My confidence will NEVER waver in this team.........................until TB/BB retire that is :D

Except for days like today, when Colin had Rob Parker on his show, and Colin didn't really challenge him about any of his ridiculous takes or the stupid, provably false stuff he's said in the past.

Colin is generally pro-Pats, but is also King of the Hawt takes, which I guess is why he does what he does. He's hyper-opinionated about everything, and instantly. He is a volume opinion generator.

A few of his favorite Pats hawt takes annoy me. He seems to be the champion of the "Brady got Jimmy traded, against Belichick's wishes" crap, which I think can't be true.

Oh ok. Haven’t tuned in yet. Thanks for the heads up!

Cowherd is a jerkoff. He's less of a jerkoff than Rob Parker and Max Kellerman, but that's not saying much. He's largely like the rest of the disingenuous asshats who express opinions which are based upon how likely it is that people will react strongly to those opinions.

When do the Pats ever get blown out?

These games are always close win or lose.

Got blown out twice this year by marginal teams. In terms of playoffs, go back to the last time they were in the playoffs with a record worse than 12-4. They got positively throttled by Baltimore at home in 2009

I doubt the final score is especially lopsided but it’s certainly possible given this team’s inconsistency and awful run D. This is certainly the least talented and worst overall performing team they’ve had since the last time they got crushed. The worst team before that, 2005, got thoroughly outplayed although the loss was “only” 14 points.

Saying “these games are always close” is misleading when most Brady/Belichick Pats teams have been much better than this one. This team, based on talent and regular season performance, is much more 2005 or 2009 than 2007 or 2016. Doesn’t mean they can’t beat LA, but you should at least consider similar teams in the Belichick era when making statements like “they’re always close”

STFU you contentious azzole...you ALWAYS spew negatives on this board. It's old, played out ignorance on a galactic scale. Pats fans just want to ENJOY their team, win or lose. We don't need your constant negative trolling garbage before every goddamned game the Pats play.
