Feminism has nothing to do with equal rights for women. Feminism is there to destroy the traditional nuclear family and create friction between men and women. The
MGTOW movement is a reaction to feminism. Men don't want to talk too women anymore. Feminism is only really existing in the west and its no surprise that replacement fertility rates are dropping in the west since feminism has been around. Look at who is behind feminism then it all becomes very clear.

I only mentioned feminism because I wanted to avoid the predictable 'if women didn't want to be shoved they shouldn't be feminists. Eat it, Gloria Steinam!' type posts from the usual crowd.

My point was that feminist or not, doesn't matter. A 225lb ball of muscle shouldn't be getting physical with someone half their weight and a 10th of their strength unless they are actual in danger of harm. That the gender aspect of this is irrelevant to me. That's it. I don't wanna discuss feminism because I already know where my Gen X and Baby Boomers peers on this board stand on that with a reasonable degree of certainty and none of us are likely to change our minds this late in the game so what's the point of debating it?

Its image will be further tarnished.
Right but will revenues suffer? That’s the bottom line here and past history, which includes a dude taking a switch to his child’s nutsack, says emphatically “no.” So is it really conduct detrimental?

Also, this is all very confusing. Apparently she called him a “nigger” which led to the violent response from Hunt. I’ve always been told you don’t say that to a black person without expecting to catch those hands. But she’s a woman. But I’ve always been told that women deserve equal rights. Where’s the line? Is it only equal rights when it suits them or do they also have an equal right to get their asses handed to them when they lob the N-bomb like it’s a hand grenade? This must be making your average liberal’s head explode.

Not to mention the same dude admitted to still beating his child very recently. Not a peep from the NYJFL* and not a peep from Washington football fans. So child beater gets to play. No dip in revenue.

No, if she calls you the N-word, you just call her a thot, cracker beyotch, two $$ w*ore & get the hell out of there. Sticks & stones.

4 games suspension, lose first round pick, $1m fine on owner, coach, etc. integrity....too much?

You should get some therapy. But thanks for making it easy in terms of ignore list.

She also put her hands on him though. Let’s not forget about that. And no, I’m not excusing Hunt. I think women are equal to men in a variety of ways (ability to do certain jobs, cognitive ability, etc.), but physical strength isn’t one of them. If that’s the case, they’re not fully equal and therefore shouldn’t ask for “equal rights.” If you want equal rights with men, you need to take the good with the bad and not just cherry pick the good when it suits you. But these questions need to be asked. You call a black dude that word and put your hands on him, you’re putting yourself in a losing situation because he may not be so honorable.

For any rational person all of this is pretty straight forward. If someone curses at you then either a) walk away or b) throw some words at them. But what you don't do is shove someone and then also kick them.

If you can't control yourself to do that maybe you need therapy.

Words can be offensive. And a person shouldn't be subjected to offensive slurs. So would the solution be to make offensive slurs a criminal offense?

No because that’s that’s ridiculous. But most men would expect to be defending themselves if they called a black dude that then also put their hands on him. Should a woman? Or are we admitting that women aren’t truly equal in the most pure sense of the form?

She could have walked away as well. She put her hands on him too and tossed out a racial slur. Hitting her is not something I personally would have done but other men are different. Other men are like Hunt. Hunt was wrong for putting his hands on her but she also put herself in a situation where her physical safety was left in the hands of a stranger that was bigger and stronger than she was and she had her own actions to largely thank for it.

How do you teach a younger generation to be better people when the NYJFL*, the corrupt 32, and other organizations value $$$$$ over morality. And how society is saying, we're ok with their approach by continuing to give them $$$$$$.

As we all continue to tune into football every Sunday, aren't we all saying we're ok with Kareem Hunt kicking a person while the person is down? We're ok with the corrupt 32 covering this up? We're ok with sexual assault? We're ok with domestic violence?

Whether you like it or not, young people pick up on all this sub consciously.

  1. Not on company time.
  2. Not about company business.
  3. It's a matter for the involved parties, and the law, not the general public.
  4. It should be none of the NFL's business.

But the country will spend thousands of man hours virtue signalling, anyway. It only took until post #6 in this thread for the insanity on the subject to ramp up to almost maximum power.

Great take, if you want to ignore logic, precedent and reality.

You be a superior parent. My generation grew up with this version of the NFL and somehow most of us made it out okay. The ones that didn’t either had **** or nonexistent parenting or were bad seeds to begin with. But as a parent you take responsibility for how your child grows up. You don’t pass the blame to an organization just because it employs less than perfect individuals.

How much says he still plays in the AFCCG? Suspended next season. 2 games.

I can accept the argument that the NFL should have nothing to do with investigating off-field behavior and should leave criminal investigations to law enforcement and punishment to the legal system. If for nothing else, due to the fact that the NFL sucks at this stuff.

But we have instances out the wazoo of the NFL NOT EVER doing that.

To arbitrarily start right now would be a a bit of a fairness issue, correct?

Maybe they will start the next time a high-profile JETE is charged with something.

Re: The portion in bold.

The first time something is done in any direction is generally unfair in the eyes of some. Part of the problem is that there's not really any such thing as "fair". "Fair" is a concept, not a tangible. So, yeah, it'll suck for those who've been punished in the past if the league pulls its head out of its ass and gets out of the secondary discipline business, but it's still the right thing to do.

To the rest, that's pretty much all I'm saying. The sad truth is that these situations have now given rise to the modern versions of vigilantism and lynchings, as we can see in thread after thread, and sacrificial offering after sacrificial offering, and it does us no credit to continue down this path. The NFL, and the NFLPA (and this goes for the other leagues too) should have made it clear that LEAGUE discipline would only concern league related issues, be it on-field issues or off-field cheating/gambling/etc.... Beyond that, let teams manage their own players as they see fit, and let criminal issues be handled by the police.

I don't get your point. I don't think anyone is claiming she is innocent in how the situation came to be but none of this excuses or even lightens what Hunt then did by even 0.0001%.

She is responsible for her actions and he is for his. He escalated a scuffle into full blown assault. It doesn't matter if he hit a woman or a man in this case either. It is all about being proportional and reasonable in the response to being called the n-word.

You are edging towards victim blaming here.
