HOF Selects 25 Semi Finalists:

Rodney’s whole career was about getting snubbed.

Man somehow only made two Pro Bowls over his career due to a bias against his style of play. Sadly it will probably lead to him never getting in.
Over time, I'm hopeful that his TV gig will help soften the HoF selection committee.....or they just die from old age. :p

Look at the Cowboys and Steelers Hall of Famers from their dynasty, are we really only putting in Brady, Bill and Adam from the 3 outta 4?

Rodney and Law should already be in, Seymour will never make it unless real football guys get put on the committee but he should be in. Willie Mac has most sacks in post season history, so he’s a maybeee.

Hot take, but was Bruschi that much worse than Urlacher? Guy was so impactful, but he’ll never sniff the Hall, maybe they’ll right just throwing it out there.

Faneca and Mawae play Guard and Center, respectively.

A lot tougher for them to get in than CB’s.
Yeah I’m just thinking in the perspective of the voters. Then again, there doesn’t ever seem to be any consistent logic or reason to their voting at times..so :D

Do you think it’s unfair that Seymour gets looked down upon because he was traded to Oakland?

It wasn’t like he had a steep decline. The guy still played well on bad Oakland teams.

I think people write him off as another outcast that was ran out by Bill. He wasn’t some dump off. It wasn’t cutting Lawyer before opening day, or sending off Jamie Collins for peanuts. We got a first rounder for the guy.

I think Rodney deserves it. But, I also think his problem is 3- fold: 1. He tends toward brutal honesty as an analyst; 2. He had a largely well-known deserved rep as a "dirty player" , although I think that was somewhat exaggerated; 3 His PED suspension.

I must have had this debate/discussion for both sides about 10 times. I go back and forth.

Both were great, great players.
I choose Seymour. It’s closer if you say “for their positions” but Seymour played a more impactful position.

By that argument Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Fran Tarkenton, Earl Campbell, Barry Sanders, Barry Sanders, Anthony Munoz, Andre Tippet and John Hannah (that list is just off the top of my head, apologies to the dozens I omitted) don't belong in the HoF??? None of them ever 'won anything' either.

Your point, as usual, is a terrible one. Feel free to argue it over with the man in the mirror because no one else takes your arguments seriously.
So your argument is that a coach isn’t graded by winning? Really?
Coryell coached 14 years in the nfl and won 3 playoff games.
Hall of fame lol.
But feel free to explain how a coach rises to the best among his peers without winning.

Edgerrin James is one I consider as this. His most iconic moment is getting stuffed at the goal line.

Also, why does Corey Dillon never get considered, but Edgerrin always does? He was just as good throughout his career.
I'm sorry, Edgerrin who?

Whoever that is, he is not fit to carry Corey Dillon's jockstrap.

I think the enduring replays of the helmet catch has hurt his chances more than anything else. If he breaks up that pass, or intercepts it, and the Patriots win, he has a much stronger chance of getting into the HoF.

Sey was a better 3-4 DE. VW was a better 3-4 DT. I rationalize the argument that way.

It's like picking one child over the other

Here’s one: Is Andy Reid a HOF Coach?

I don't believe he is, but I've been told that I'm wrong on that particular ass-essment.
8th all time in wins. Once he passes Marty Schottenheimer, then all of the guys ahead of him in wins are/will be surefire HOF coaches.

You may not think so, I’m just going by what the voters will think. I think they’ll vote him in. Too many wins over the years
If that is the criteria then Shotsie should be in as well

Shotsie only won what, three playoff games though?

The reason he isn’t in is because of how he was completely incapable of winning playoff games. That hurt his legacy big time.

Reid has known playoff blunders as well. But he has at least has won 11 of them, and went to a Super Bowl.

Also worth mentioning that he’s only a few wins away from passing Marty. If he coaches another few years then he will be well ahead of him.
