Gronk not at practice today

Echoing what everyone else has said.

I think he's frustrated physically and mentally. He's a competitor and I think he wants to do more than he can right now physically, which probably has pushed him to be mentally frustrated.

Doesn’t help that his new contract is all incentive based.

Agreed, but if you can go 100%, then not much to do.

He is set for life (assuming he's smart with his money, as he has been so far)

This is why Bill tried to trade him, he's not the same player.

He's definitely not right and/or the team is "managing" him. How many of those parented 20-30 yard seam passes have we seen? Seriously how many of those routes head he run?

Why don't sit him against 'bad' teams? If you look to some teams injury reports guys like Julius Peppers, Kyle Williams and Lorenzo Alexander they rest 2 days EVERY week. Give him day offs. He has 4/5 m in incentives. Doing that he can play 2 years more and make a lot more money. You need him 100% for 3 games + 4 or 5 regular games. I will never understand this.

Guess an ilness is going around but also ankle/back issues could be it. His last presser was..weird.

Not sure if he retires soon or not but I wouldn't be surprised...just MO
I think he is done. Should have traded him when he had value. It's too much of a grind for his body.

Gronk certainly didn't look like himself in the Bills game. If BB thinks he can contribute and he's healthy enough to play, I think we should put him on the field just to draw defenders away. Play him in limited capacity. If he's completely rested, he may be a little rusty when he comes back later in the season. He need him full strength then. He's too good a talent to not play. I hope he BB and team use him wisely so he can play beyond this season.

I’m officially worried. He hasn’t looked right for a while now and he looked outright depressed in his press conference.

Maybe a little pissed. Zack Cox (NESN) wrote that, on his way out after the presser, Gronk muttered something about how he was sick and tired of answering the same stupid questions over and over.

Maybe the mediots collectively could get a clue and start asking him about other things - like his charitable visits to kids in the hospital? Y'know, start treating him like a human being instead of just a big, dumb touchdown machine?

Shut him down for a few weeks after the Packers game
Hell after how bad he looked in Buffalo, I’d shut him down this week too. I know he wants to earn his incentives, but he’s doing himself and the team zero favors by being out there.

I'd sit the guy assuming it's ankle and/or back issues. Let him come back after the bye. He's not right and aggravating whatever it is needs more time than just another one week off. If that doesn't work well, he'll be retiring post season.

I was thinking we could at least use him as a decoy against the Packers and draw some coverage away from Edelman and Gordon. Otherwise, if we lose, we’re going to lose ground to the Chiefs. This is one of those games where we’ll need his presence.

Won't work well enough to help substantively. Way he's playing, they can get away with single coverage. Even one of our pathetic TE backups will also need single coverage. If they don't cover the backup TE, throw to them. Maybe they'll catch one.
Sit him in an attempt to fix him. He's broken. If we break him further, he won't be available post season.

Won't be the least bit surprised if he retires after this season.

What I am thinking...he looks like he's done and that last presser said a lot
