Patrick Peterson Wants Out of Arizona

So Rowe can be simultaneously on a rookie contract and a vested veteran? Doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Also I am using Spotracs numbers here. It is them saying you can save a million by releasing JMac.
Veterans (I think after 2 years) have their salaries guaranteed if they are on a roster week 1.
It’s possible that they are referring to savings from Ltbe playing time incentives, however I do not believe those come back at the time of cut, rather they get applied next year in the nltbe/ltbe adjustments.

Be nice to get Peterson, but the price might be too high

I was hoping @Miguel would weigh in on this scenario, but I suspect that he is having a hard time typing while laughing hysterically.

Taking closer look at Patriots reported interest in Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson

Peterson's salary prorated over the last nine weeks of the season is $5.8 million and his salary prorated over the last 10 weeks of the season is $6.5 million. The Patriots currently have just over $5 million in cap space, so they would need to make another move just to make the figures work... Things could certainly change between now and next Tuesday's trade deadline, but right now it doesn't seem like things line up for Peterson coming to New England.

The D is not good but its not god awful either

That is not an endorsement either though not power house Offenses like the Chiefs and Rams the Pack - Vikes and Steelers could easily drop 40 on this D.

...and we'd hang 40 on them.

Thats the league today. No one has a dominant defense.

The only defense that scares me off the top of my head is Jacksonville.

How to put an end to most trade request scenarios:

"I want to be traded"

"OK, but you'll have to take a pay cut to facilitate any deal, because we want to recoup as much of our investment in you as is possible"

"Whoa! I didn't say I wanted to make less money"

Talk about nonsensical post.. You don't seem to realize that you can't reduce a player's salary in the middle of a season when it's already been guaranteed.

Would you guys give up a 1st for Peterson, assuming he signs a long term deal here?

He’s 28. If you sign him longterm it’s likely he declines in the middle of it. That said we’ve done next to nothing with our top draft picks for awhile and getting 2-3 years of a league best secondary might not be the worst thing
