NFL Week 6 TNF: Eagles at Giants

The giants will get a top 5 pick this year. They’ll get one of the top QBs.
Yeah they’re imploding. If they didn’t like Darnold, Rosen, Allen, or Jackson, then taking Barkley where they did makes a ton of sense. They just need to make sure Odell doesn’t get into his head. That dude is an absolute cancer and that they gave him the deal they did is LMAO-worthy.

The one thing they have is a stud in Barkley. He was great at Penn State and looks to be doing the same with the Giants.

He is a truly outstanding talent. And as long as Eli Manning is his QB and Beckham is his teammate, he'll be on a losing team.

The scary thing is - he's just going to get better.

On their first 7 drives, Eli only completed 2 passes beyond the line of scrimmage for a combined 3 yards in the air.

I projected Saquon's current stats, and if he keeps up this pace he'll end up with 104 catches, 995 receiving yards and 1168 rushing yards. 16 touchdowns as well.

Only two players in history have had 1000 yard receiving and 1000 yard rushing seasons. Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig.

If he keeps up his TD pace, there's only a few rookies ever who could compete with that number. If he raises it to 17, then only Gale Sayers (22 TDs!!!) and Eric ****erson would be above him.

Also, there have only been two seasons (Tomlinson, Forte) in which a RB had 1000 yards rushing and 100 receptions.

SB's having a pretty good year so far, and would join some elite players if he can keep it up.

I wonder why Mike Franseca can't criticize Eli. It is almost as if he is afraid to do so.
Eli is pathetic, but he just might be the best they have by a long shot. I don’t even know who the Giants backups are. Is Webb still on the team? IIRC they drafted Kyle Lauletta, did he make the cut?

(This is what happens when you collect football cards like I do - you get a rookie card of a guy like Lauletta so it’s easy to associate player with team but then I don’t even remotely follow what happens to him once the season begins. :D)

Actually, to me, he looks almost like Tikki Barber in his prime. He will get better. The guy just has a natural talent for knowing where the hole is and going there and fast. If he was on the Pats, I could see him getting 1200+ yards rushing and 1200+ receiving easily.

There's never been a 1200 yard rusher/1200 yard receiver in the history of the NFL. So I disagree on the easy part.

I have to respectfully disagree. He is a monster compared to Barber. His thighs are thicker than Barber’s waist (but still not thicker than Barber’s head).

If anything he looks like Ron Dayne from those old Giants teams - but he sure don’t play like Ron Dayne.

the giants are a prime candidate for "team that should have signed kaepernic"

Kap with RPO, Barkley, beckham. would be rough for defenses to stop.

Indicative of the state of defenses around the league:

Not with that offensive line. Kap would get killed trying to run RPO concepts behind that turnstile.
