Yeah I wouldnt say hes oft-injured.Refraining from labeling him as "oft-inured" at this point isn't cutting him slack. It's merely being reasonable.
Rowe is oft-injured.

Sir, I didn't say anything about Rowe, so not sure why you raise that. I did refer to Hollister being "oft injured". I will happily withdraw the term "oft" if it rankles. I also did not say I was ready to send him to IR. To the contrary, I agreed with @DaBruinz that he would not be replaced unless he went to IR, and I said this injury didn't sound that serious.Rowe was on the injury report with a "groin" for 11 consecutive regular-season games in 2017 (same injury that's causing him to miss this week). He missed 8 of those, bringing his two-season total to 15 regular-season games, out of 32.
Hollister, who missed ZERO games in 2017 due to injury, is held out of the final two "meaningless" pre-season games and then held out of week-1 with a hammy injury. He's cleared of that by the end of week-2 practices and plays well in the game.
He's off the injury report, but, towards the end of this week's practices, he suffers a not-likely-to-become-chronic "chest" injury, and is ruled out for the game.
This all seems different to me than "he's been injured for more than a month."
Nevertheless, Hollister is now so "oft-injured" that you're ready to send him to IR and replace him with a guy from the PS.
Seems just a tad disproportionate to me.

For clarification, here is my point: Hollister is inexperienced but was supposedly ready to step up and fill a larger role than he was able to give last season. He injured his hamstring in pres-season which slowed his progress and he was kept out of the last two preseason games. He was still on the injury report at the start of the season but finally got onto the field against Jacksonville, before getting injured again and is now out for week 3. The team is desperate for reliable targets in the passing game, and is making moves to find some. A hamstring and now a chest injury have held Hollister back a bit. Stephen Andersen is a more experienced replacement who had 25 receptions last season to Hollister's 4. What I am suggesting is that if Hollister does not produce, there is a guy behind him who might. I did not say that he should be replaced now. I am simply noting that there is a bit of pressure to find targets and the H-back spot could help fill that need but has not. I hope Hollister can do it, but if he cannot, I will not be surprised to see him replaced. I am not giving up on Hollister. Just saying that there is a pressing need and Bill's patience is not infinite.
Mitchell files grievance.
Boston Sports Media (salivating profusely): "OH BOY! HERE WE GO!!"
Mitchell and the Pats settle within 24 hours.
Boston Sports Media (salivating profusely): "Oh, yawn! Okay, where's that list of follow-up speculations about Brady wanting to divorce Belichick?"
I too, made the mistake of including the oft injured designation, so I’m here to own up to that as well. It just seems that Hollister has been underwhelming, especially after we heard about how far he’d come since last year, so the recent injuries this past summer and into the season have been frustrating. I agree that it is probably an unfair criticism, although I stand by my initial assessment that he seems to be a waste of a roster spot, thus far. Obviously, we hope that he can turn it around quickly. You labeled Hollister with the term "oft-injured". I offered Rowe as a counter example of a player who has truly been "oft-injured."
Thank you for your clarification. It erases the ambiguities of your original, shorter post and seems a very reasonable POV.
Your initial assessment of Hollister was, and still is, correct....It just seems that Hollister has been underwhelming, especially after we heard about how far he’d come since last year, so the recent injuries this past summer and into the season have been frustrating. More likely, Billingsly's cold is better. This must mean Josh Gordon is ready to go.
He's long gone.More likely, Billingsly's cold is better.
Does this mean Coleman couldnt catch the ball?
How is someone like Coleman bounced around and Hogan and Dorsett have done nothing to warrant a roster spot this year?
They come, they go. Interesting they did not sign Britt after bringing him back last week.
