We’re onto Miami

One example might be Dez Bryant -just a few years ago he was a feared WR and probably top 5 in the NFL - a few years later and fully healthy he can't even get a job and he's only 29 - not comparing the 2 but it happens

It happens. That is not what happened here though. Hogan is fine as what he is - a third WR and in last years case he was riding shotgun to Cooks, Gronk, DA and an offense that was clicking on more cylinders than it is now. 7 months ago Hogan was the 2nd best WR on the field in a Superbowl. Now he has lost it?

Since we are gutted at WR Hogan is the primary focus of the other teams since there is a lot less for other teams to worry about. So, you thrust him into a #1 WR role, he will struggle. AS he should since he is not a number 1 WR and is not being paid to be. He draws a top CB assignment.

The posters here that just blindly proclaim that so and so sucks without any context are ruining this forum

Both sides are pretty bad. Its the iapatsfans of the forum and those that just say DIS IS THE MIDST OF A RUN OF DA GREATEST DYNASTY EVERR LOL WTF. There are problems. They need to be discussed. But that doesn't also mean that the entire team sucks and/or is devoid of talent. The Chicken Littles and the mindless homers and those that root for the coach or the quarterback before they root for the laundry need to go.

Your homerism sometimes is so much on high that you sound like a complete idiot -
Funny. You are accusing me of being positive about the franchise that is on the greatest run in NFL history and acting like THAT is the naive take.

no one knew Gordon was joining this team back in September and Edelman was already known to miss the first 4 games but yet this is what the team had to start the season with

Right because they should have known that Britt, Matthews and Mitchell would all get injured and that decker would fail.

- there was 3 receivers to start with and all 3 of them are 4th depth scrubs who will actually make a play but only on an inconsistent basis

Well that is certainly a reason to cry.

- Gordon is not even close to guaranteeing the team that he will even play well let alone be another Randy Moss....when you have to rely on a 32 year old slot receiver coming off a long recovery and a troubled receiver who has been more out of football then in it and because of lack of quality depth, defenses are set on double teaming and shutting down the best TE in football because they know thats really all the G.O.A.T. has at 41 years old then you really have much to need to hope for.
As I just said by this time next week that problem will not exist.
Sure they were shorthanded for some games. They did a hell of a lot to try to avoid that (there were 7 veteran receivers who have had success in this league in camp) but things went badly. I don’t understand why a grown man would feel the need to cry about that.
Suck it up. They lost a couple of games. It happens.

Am I saying this team is not able to improve?,hell no but for some deep down gut reason,I think this time its going to be a bigger task than normal as some teams in the AFC are looking pretty darn good right now and there are quite a few holes to fill.
I’m sure you have multitudes of ideas of how they could have done things to avoid a 3-4 game period where they were short handed at the position. Fortunately this organization recognizes that playing short handed is a natural occurrence in the nfl and not something to overreact to, cry about, or get depressed over.

MIA Scares me...this D and O scares me. Sundays at its best

So you are leaving then ?

Eh, at least I'm from New England. For that matter, I've criticized Brady about 100x more since 2006 on this forum than you ever have Belichick (since 2014... when you first showed up... curiously right in the midst of a Super Bowl run). Have you ever been critical of Belichick? Honestly, I can't remember a single instance. Meanwhile, I was critical of Brady forcing the ball to Gronk and throwing to Hogan in double coverage as recently as 3 weeks ago.

Who cares ?

Give me a real reason to be upset and I will be. None of this hindsight ******** or red herrings like the drop kick.

People that are actual fans of the laundry with actual ties to New England care. Nobody likes fair weather or bandwagon fans.

How the team started out the season at WR for starters? That’s where this thread has gone. Good thing is that, unlike his fans, Belichick realized the need and made a move. If it were his panty sniffers around here who were in charge of things, Gordon would have never happened because everything is always sunshine and rainbows. Lol, **** outta here. I’m thoroughly enjoying how butthurt you are, though.

Unless you are some kind of Nazi who gives a **** if you are from NE, California, Colombia or in China.

No clue what you are on about but its fun living in your head. Keep on amusing me.

Comments:

1.) I am now thinking that both Edelman and Gordon will return in week 6. Gordon still seems to have an issue with his hammy...will that heal up in 7 days? Or will we take it easy? Also, Edelman is only walking through the door on Monday for a Thursday game...will he even suit up?

2.) 2 games in the next 7 days then a mini-BYE. Needless to say, we need to take both games because that KC game doesn't bode well for our defense...we could be looking at 2-4 after 6 weeks and a road trip to Chicago to face Mack & Co.....

3.) Here's PFF's OL ranking for the Dolphins through 3 weeks:

#16:
Starting Lineup:

Left Tackle: Laremy Tunsil, 72.4
Left Guard: Ted Larsen, 57.5
Center: Daniel Kilgore, 56.7
Right Guard: Jesse Davis, 59.7
Right Tackle: Ja’Wuan James, 69.3

While the interior is still a work in progress after the Josh Sitton injury, the Dolphins may have the most underrated tackle duo in the NFL. Laremy Tunsil and Ja’Wuan James have both graded among the top-20 tackles in the NFL. Tunsil’s improvement has been particularly impressive, as he’s allowed only two hurries all season.
====================
This seems like a game where Shelton, Brown, and Guy should be making plays or we are dead in the water.

4.) At running back, Kenyan Drake finished last year strong and has done OK this year. And there's Frank Gore who always runs hard. Looking at the OL ranking above, I think they will run off tackle more...so we gotta set the edge on D.

5.) At WR: DeVante Parker returned last week. So, we are looking at Stills, Parker, and Amendola....we will have our hands full. I think I stick Gilmore on Stills just to take away the big play. Then Jonathan Jones on Dola….hopefully Jones has a lot of practice reps vs. Dola from the last 2 years. Rowe/McCourty on Parker who is 6'3".....

6.) At TE they have old friend A.J. Derby...and a rookie...Mike Gesicki. Both have about 6 receptions and 70ish yards total through 3 games. If Chung is ready to go...this offensive option should be neutralized.

7.) The Dolphin D is always tough...and the rookie Fitzpatrick has been making a lot of plays even if he isn't listed as the starter yet. Kiko Alonso is the kind of linebacker we desperately need....unsure why Buffalo and Philly gave up on him... and there's always Cam Wake...Cannon needs to be 100% this game.

Man, I am worried...….

Erm, let me remind you that it was you who took an innocuous general observation and decided to take it down the personal path. I wasn’t talking to you or about you in particular but I assume you took it that way due to the fact that you’re one of those people. Guilty conscience?

But it’s understandable. You got whooped and you’re butthurt. If it makes you feel any better, you’re far from the first person whose ass I’ve whipped on here and you certainly won’t be the last. But this constant need to keep my attention now has gotten a little creepy. This is the kind of stuff the Andy used to do back in the day. Go put some lipstick on and dance in drag in front of the mirror with your junk tucked between your legs. That should make you feel like the well appreciated woman you truly deserve to be treated as instead of the scornful one you’re presenting yourself as in this thread.

This really is as close to a must win game as you're going to get in week 4. A loss would give them 2 AFC losses without any room for error if they have any hope of getting a bye. I was thinking to myself that they'd be OK because these past 2 games were apparitions, but I looked at the stats and it's clear that Houston was a really bad offensive team and we Pats fans totally overrated that win.
The Pats held Houston to 2/11 on third down - fantastic day, for sure. But a look at Houston's stats shows they've only converted TWELVE third downs all season. They're at 35.2% on third down for the year - that's pathetic.
The Pats defense is equally bad - including the good performance against Houston the Patriots are giving up third downs at an alarming 48.7%. Last year the worst third down defense was Tampa at 48.1%, so right now the New England Patriots are WORSE than the most terrible defense in stopping third down last year, and rank third from the bottom this season.
As far as trends are concerned the Pats are allowing third downs at a rate of 60.7% over the last two games! I bet you'd be hard pressed to find two consecutives games where the Pats D has been so God awful.
Luckily Miami is not great on third down offensively. I'm going to this game and there's nothing worse than spending $300 on game ticket, food and booze to see a loss.

GO PATS
