They thought the “better than Patterson” guy was already on the roster, but he was hurt from June through August. He’s in for a workout today, so we may see soon if that internal hype was warranted.

True. I'm skeptical that Britt offers much of anything at this point even if healthy, though certainly they're in a beggars can't be choosers situation at the position.

This Eric Rowe quote sums it up. Disappointed in the coaching staff if that’s the case.
“I mean, he did a number on us,” Rowe said of Bortles. “We didn’t really expect that, him coming out and throwing like that. But we did expect their best shot, so it kind of wasn’t a surprise. We knew Jacksonville didn’t like us that much, and you know, they kind of worked extra hard on us. So it wasn’t like a surprise surprise, but he did have a good day.”

Eric Rowe On Getting Benched Vs. Jags: 'I Wasn't Getting The Job Done'

Rowe is Trash I hope he's Inactive from now on...Rowe and few other on this Team are like Tits on a Bull useless. Rowe is Patterson of CB's again useless.

Nope. His drafting has been awful. If you don’t spend the big bucks on defense then you have to hit with these picks. Someone mentioned some other teams that have done it besides not picking highly. Right now he can’t get duke dawson on the field and rivers is inactive for some strange reason. Clayborn stinks! Don’t know what he saw in the guy.

Its exactly like that.

And there's no "had" about drafting in the NFL.

Since 2011, the Patriots have drafted at an average of spot #30 in the round (before trades).

The next best two teams (with the next worst average draft positions) have come in at #25 in the round.

They have one Superbowl between them.

Since 2000, tell us who you think has been the best team/GM at drafting of all time.

I will show you stretches of years with very similar draft failure numbers to Belichick.

And I guarantee you none of them have drafted behind all other teams when they made their picks.

As a Patriot fan, I expect that crap can happen during the first 4 games of the season. Seems BB and gang just open up slow and build from there.

The things that surprised me were the speed/quickness of their receivers when compared to our guys and the rub routes that were effective and tremendous YAC they were getting. Defense seemed slow at times.

The offense appears to be require a receiver like Edleman and it's not great when there is such a small margin for error. JAX is a very good team with plenty of talent, so I always had this game as questionable.

Let's seem what happens in week 5 and beyond. The team identity doesn't solidify early and ends looking different than it begins. We'll be there with a chance and in the end, that's all you can hope for as a fan.

Brady sucked. The OL sucked. Hogan and Gronk were MIA.

The defense was bad but at least produced 2 turnovers. If you can't win against Jacksonville when you are up two turnovers then you don't deserve to win.

Hope there is enough tape to learn and move on.

I am not going to go seek out the post specifically but you said 'Brady SUCKED, OL sucked' followed by the rest of your post.
You weren’t seeing things. Here it is.

Been through this already. There is a big difference between saying the entire offense sucked and then listing elements of that offense or blaming Brady for the game (which I didnt do). But whatever I will try to be more clear in the future.

Jets face Jags week 4. So I'm not rubbing in the loss by any means.

But it is great to see that great D can still win in this league.

I haven't read the whole thread, but giving up 206 yards after-the-catch is insane. We have no team speed on D.

This is baffling to me as to why we continue to trot out slow defenses in these last few years. It’s obvious the game is changing. If you don’t have speed on defense your going to have a hard time.

Are you saying the Game is passing BB by Blasphemy.

It's because we win a lot and go deep into the playoffs most years meaning we pick at the end of most rounds in the draft. Plus, the last few years there have been some high profile busts/injuries that were supposed to solve some of the weaknesses on the team.

Hightower did not have a good game. The guy looks slow as hell.

Lol I’m not saying that. But I am saying it would help his defense out if we had more team speed.

If they can make average QB's like Foles and Bortles look like Montana in his prime. How are they going to make Matthew Stafford look next week?? They are not the best Team but they got some speed on O. This Team minus Edelman on O and slow as a Tortoise on D is not a sure thing against Fatty Patricia and the Lions.

The whole LB corps is slow - HT, KVN, and Bentley. That’s why Jax was so effective in those shallow crossing routes.
