Some Thoughts on the JAX Game

Those guys just got into the league and are tearing a hole through this defense. They will face experienced wrs. Must be nice to draft wrs that make an impact on the team.

Cole wasn't drafted. Westbrook was a 4th round pick.

Unfortunately, we won’t know if this team has truly rebounded until the KC game. Detroit, Miami and Indy should be wins.

Think off-side penalties, illegal formation penalties, interceptions, offensive line blocking miscues, and opposing defensive line 'jail breaks' resulting in Brady getting buried.

How can the offense get an off sides penalty?

Thank you p8yrts , BINGO! "Fowler is just to fast for Waddle to block and his two plays were key."

My point is that these guys are green and doing damage to this defense. Wait next week when they go against a more explosive trio.

McDaniels was trying to exploit the Jags run defense and test that. The play calling was fine in the first half as well. The execution was terrible because the Patriots don't have a wideout that can legitimately scare defenses away from cheating up and pressing. They were also missing their starting RT.

That should be Dorsett. He has the speed. He had a step on the corner on one play but Brady missed him.

You have to run sometimes. No one was expecting so many running plays. On at least two plays, the back was slow to the hole and it closed fast because Jags' DL is fast.

Any wins a good win but it came at a cost for Jax. Lost their starting LT for the season with an ACL. Knee just couldn’t handle Hightower’s pass rush

I expect Detroit to be a desperate team on sunday. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a dog fight. I am gonna be looking to see how this defense looks against those teams.

We'll see. Different team and different week. Nothing in the NFL is a lineal progression.

Good fumble recovery, you're absolutely correct. I misspoke, I meant 'illegal procedure'! But I think you get the gist of my thoughts.

Yes it is. The Patriots usually start the season slow and then build to where they're playing their best football in December and January. That's a linear progression.

Now, some teams are erratic where they're good one week and terrible the next but that's not the Patriots.

Well they didn’t miss a beat. How weak is this d line that they couldn’t take advantage of that.

The Patriots' performance yesterday tells me the entire team had a bad game, not that the entire team is bad. You seem to conflate the two and extrapolate that if a player played poorly one week he will play poorly every week. I don't think that is necessarily true.

Ok, point taken, but that's the exception to the rule and there's no guarantee that happens every year.

We lost Flowers right around the same time, so I'm going to call that a wash.

You gotta have depth at DE. Flowers is a good player but you can’t depend on one player. I heard about this depth at DE and they haven’t done diddly. Why is rivers inactive is beyond me.

I am talking about the d line. They got dominated just like in their super bowl. We need them to get more of a push inside.

Unfortunately we are going to win the next 3??

My point was not about the D-line as a whole, just that if they lose an O-Lineman, and we lose our best D-lineman, I'm not going quibble about not taking advantage of their injury.
