So was the reverse pass to Brady in the Super Bowl, doesn’t make the call any more idiotic.

I'm pretty sure the play call wasn't "Tom, you make a quick toss to a wide open Patterson. Patterson, you fall down without contact, and lose yardage when the first down is right there for the taking".
