Personally, with Gordon it's drugs and alcohol, the guy has deep seated issues and high anxiety when playing. Don't see that BB will take the risk no matter how much support he could blanket him with the team.

It’s not just that he has drug issues and alcohol issues. It’s that even when facing a lifetime suspension he didn’t stop. Then after getting a reprieve from the lifetime suspension he hasn’t cared about football.
He stayed away for almost all of camp deciding to stay home because he was facing a custody battle. He was required to stay home, there was no advantage on staying home he just was in a sad mood.
Then he shows up and 3 weeks the one team in the nfl that could afford to waste their time in a risky long shot, the one that bent over backwards for him decides he just isn’t worth the trouble.

You have 2 choices if you bring the guy in. One, you brought him in for talent so you integrate him into your offense and his talent dictates he is a big part of it. 5 weeks later he flakes and you have wasted all that time and now you have to reinvent your offense on the fly.
Two, you are afraid of counting on him so you limit using him and keep him on the bench, so his talent is wasted and you have a head case who isn’t helping.

Also, since he can’t back he has not been close up the player people remember and think he still is. He doesn’t produce when he plays. Barely playing football for 4 years absolutely affects your ability to play. Not caring much about football does too.

Oh yes you can if you play in the NFL. CBA supercedes law and while you won't get arrested, you can be disciplined or in Gordon's case, get the lifetime ban....
Won't get in legal trouble but can throw away his well paid job...

There are guys who have turned their lives around, Cris Carter comes to mind ( once he found a fall guy). When he was cut by Buddy Ryan with the memorable quote, " all he does is catch touchdowns" people couldn't understand why but it was because they were tired of his drug issues ( alcohol, pot, cocaine and 3 failed drug tests) and was afraid of the effect on the rest of the locker room...
He turned around his life and while he has made some stupid comments since then, there have no drug issues since then...

Floyd was an alcoholic with longterm team known issues going back since he joined as a rookie. They were thinking of cutting even before his DUI which is what tipped them over the edge. I don't see any difference if its drink, or drink and weed.

So you just give up on people.. sorry I don't which is why I was saying the same stuff in the Michael Floyd thread last year.

Again.. what Floyd did is 100x worse than anything Gordon has done.. whilst the reasons for drinking and taking drugs are probably lets face it for similar reasons.
