More on the Britt front from Perry:

Kenny Britt was back in pads Saturday for the second consecutive day. He hardly participated Friday, though, and his level of participation saw a bump Saturday in that he took part in a passing-game side session with Tom Brady. He appeared to tweak something during one side-session rep, removing his helmet after. Moments later, he took a rep and appeared OK, but he later took off for the rehabbing field. It’s hard to say whether or not time on the lower field was scheduled or was a result of something he felt during the side-session.

Got it. Clear as mud.

I like britt but they’re being very patient with this guy. I wonder if he still makes the team.

Yeah if only the preseason would not end in a few days and he had more time. Ironically while the Pats are very patient with him you seem to be the opposite.

Give it at least until we are past the second preseason game. Odds are there will still be injuries, players will peak or fall apart and the tempo and necessary learning curve will go up.

If he is not on the field for the second preseason game there will be a huge question mark over him.

Eh, I’m hoping it’s just the recovery process from the clean-up procedure (supposedly) but if I were a betting man, I wouldn’t bet on his future here. Michel’s injury being a knee is concerning as well but hopefully it’s just the team playing it safe.

Why prolong the inevitable with Malcolm Mitchell?? Him still feeling discomfort after a year off and then another procedure. Can I say thank goodness for Eric Decker.

I have said no such thing. I said when it comes to deciding on the 53 his inability to even take conditionings test without pain is something that makes him unreliable and therefore extremely unlikely to be on the roster.

I said nothing about him wasting a roster spot right now. In fact I said the opposite.
This is what you said.
BEST CASE SCENARIO IS IR

Maybe but I don't see how as a coach who has to manage a limited amount of roster spots you can rely and use a spot on someone like him. At this point the best case scenario is him going to IR and maybe finding out what's wrong to have a real shot in 2019 with a clean, pain free offseason. And that's a long shot.

I am suggesting that since the people who know first hand what his medical status is have him on the roster and in pads for practice that your understanding of his situation is probably wrong.
Either that or the professionals just are clueless and should take direction from people like you who don’t know the whole story but want to act like you do.

Sure it is about best player on the field but I am not convinced it is Michel right now. Of course my premise is based on given information about his health and fumbling issues. If BB believes he is ready to be a starter in week 1 fair enough but I think his time will come but we have to wait a bit longer.
Well if he is injured that is different than beibg the best player.
As far as fumbling issues I have heard of one fumble all camp. Are you aware of more?

No chance he is part of this organization next month. No way

You can say that again because we were just brimming with options there. Anybody who doesn't like the Decker move needs their head examined. Did I mention I love our Size at WR?? This really gives our Offense and Brady more throwing windows. You can't throw to miggets forever.

Eh id rather develop Berrios and Mccarron

So, that leaves only JJ, Cy Jones, and Ebner on PUP?

Is Bolden still on NFI?

Shame Cyrus Jones hasn't taken the Field can't see him making it now. Better they just leave him on PUP and try again next year.

Well, injured player is also a player and definitely far away from being best.
Speaking of fumbles I meant his college issues in that area. You are right it was only one fumble during the camp but it also confirms Michel has a problem with keeping the ball.

Because it doesn’t hurt to at least give him the chance when his contract is as affordable as it is. It’s too bad. They finally find a WR in the early rounds that fits the offense like a glove and his knees are shot.

I really hope Decker buries his head in the Playbook: he shouldn't have much problem with the terminology being familiar with McDaniels.

Yeah that's what really hurts about the situation.

I think Cyrus is another 2nd/3rd DB mistake. They seem to do better with late round/undrafted guys.[/QUOTE]

If my count is correct he's fumbled about three times. Two on consecutive days and once out of bounds. Not sure if the fumble that went out of bounds counts as one of the two reported or if it was a third.

Yep gotta think he's Leagues behind
everyone else and he wasn't good to begin with.

The Pats need some WR who are young and develop in the system. Now seems too often that they are trying to stopgap with veterans from elsewhere. You need a mix. Mitchell was that guy, but not convinced he is not done.

You're preaching to the Choir has been mentioned many times: we need to get that Steeler WR Coach away from them to help us in this area.

I thought I had heard about a few fumbles but I could not find information to confirm it. But it doesn't change the fact he's got a problem. If he is declaring working more on keeping the ball he is aware of his issue.

I have to see the fumble to judge it. Sometimes it's just a good defensive play but if he's not securing the ball to his chest then it's another thing.

We'll see. Definitely something he can work on.

To be clear I wish him all the best. He is a stellar RB but we all know how sometimes brutal is transition from college football to NFL.
