So far the guys with the "sources" have provided zero tangible information, when asked for anything.

At least a few people have provided game analysis from the jags game that might point to why butler wasn't starting(he still should have played if not started)

I think if people want to come into this thread and try to make an argument as to why the second best corner back on the team got ZERO defensive snaps, and by the way you are the FOURTH person to do this, by saying that you have a source close to the team and "If the rumor is true" He deserved to be benched.

He was caught drinking - Not a zero snap offense IMO(denied by Butler, and Devin McCourty)

He was caught Absolutely **** faced- Again not a zero snap infraction(denied by Butler, and Devin McCourty)

He was caught with a bunch of women in his room- We talking Orgy or what, either way Not a zero snap infraction (denied by Butler, and Devin McCourty)

He was caught with his Family in his room after hours- God forbid he spend time with his family(denied by Butler, and Devin McCourty)

He got into a physical Altercation with a coach/Steve Bellichick/Stephen Gilmore- If this Happened Butler should not have been active (denied by Butler)

He was caught with massive amounts of drugs - Which drugs? Probably not a zero snap infraction(if weed) Considering he suited up ANd played Chandler Jones the same week Chandler strolled into a police station naked drugged out of his mind. (denied by Butler, and Devin McCourty)

From everything being ACTUALLY reported since 2 weeks before the superbowl, it is a 100% football decision.

The people in this thread that are still talking about it, are doing so because until someone provides something tangible, It could be the biggest **** up in sports history where the greatest coach in NFL history threw the superbowl for "reasons"

We had some info that we felt was relevant to the discussion doesn't mean we want to air out the people who provided it. I've been on here over a decade and figure some people might just trust me. I think I'll continue to question why the #2 CB got zero snaps, while Calling BS on anyone that wants to join the discussion by saying "I heard a rumor from an unnamed source".

You are taking the approach that you have no info about why Belichick made the decision but someone who claims they have info and disagrees with you is wrong because you dint know the source.
At the least they are equally as likely to be correct as you are even if hey are making it up.

My bad man, I misread your statement and WRONGFULLY assumed that you had mentioned you had a source close to the team, when in fact what you said was and I Quote "I've heard rumors & if they are correct"

I would also like to apologize for assuming that you wouldn't provide what the rumor was when asked for it, as well as the source of said rumor, when asked for it, because its not nice to call people out on their ******** anymore.

I'd further like to apologize to the three people who DO have sources close to the team, that have also heard Rumors regarding why Butler was benched. It was not right for me to lump you all together.

Further more I feel like this has finally closed the chapter on why butler was benched. BB didn't want to bench him, Malcom Butler Force BB to bench him, BB's hands were tied in the decision making that resulted in throwing the superbowl.

In addition to this, I would also like to change my stance on a few things

1.) the earth is definitely flat. I've got a guy close to nasa, and if the rumor is true, then well you know.

2.)There was actually Three shooters

3.)Aliens.

I don't think you or she fully think it through when you make it some sort of ego thing. If it was then what's next maybe he will just bench Brady this year. There are people that say he wants to win one without him.

Something went down maybe it's been speculated on already or maybe its something more or less aggregious. But he wasn't trying to be right he was reacting to something and based on that info he determined he had to go without Malcolm.

That is STAUNCH defense. No reason to believe that an improvement at CB2 and, by extension, nickel corner would have improved any of the above stats. Nope. BB is never wrong. Not once. I have his Fathead hanging face down off the ceiling of my bedroom that I would have been happy to show you if it wasn’t so sticky... for some reason.

The back and forth about rumors is a pointless distraction and would only be relevant if he were benched for the game.

The fact is he suited up and played, so any rumor is meaningless from a discipline angle (he played) or from a football angle (my grandmother could have played and it wouldn’t have been any worse than what they went with).

Keep bantering about rumors if you want, but it’s meaningless if they’re true or not.

Well, to be fair, the second rumor stated that it was still no reason to logically bench Butler.

I have a source, on the other hand, that tells me that Butler emitted a foul odor from his rectum on the team bus and refused to roll down the window. I can get behind someone being benched for that. Thats ****ed up.
