Cause and effect my man. Without police officers no one would get arrested do you blame cops for crime?

To use your own analogy, no depending on the crime you blame the criminal, or you blame the lawmaker. Since we've yet to hear of a crime being committed, I'm going to blame the lawmaker.

Bill changes his approach from week to week, year to year. In terms of game planning, overall philosophy etc nobody is more fluid than Bill.

You have no idea what this even means.

I've heard rumors & if they are correct theres no way Butler shouldn't have been playing. It's easily the biggest f-up of Bill's tenure.

The collective of that game wasn't going to change. Butler isn't Revis in his prime that would have made that type of impact. That said he's responsible for the biggest play in SB history & we just need a play or 2 from him.

Again I'm not pretending everything changes if he plays but it did have ripple effects in a very close game.

What rumors and from Who?

Or should i add you to the list of people who only deal in smoke and mirrors and will refuse to provide something of substance to the conversation.

This is one of those bad decisions, like losing to the Colts after going for it on 4th down on their own 30 yard line.

It's possible to think Belichick is the greatest of all time and at the same time, think that not playing Butler was a huge mistake and lost the Super Bowl with a crappy 3-safety game plan

Its worse.

Going for it on 4th is One call, that can be chalked up to him just reading the situation of that play wrong.

He benched butler for the entire game. thats 30+ minutes of gametime being the wrong decision.

I don't necessarily fault BB for the loss or disagree with what he did but do think if he had a do over Butler would play more than 1 snap.
If the answer to this is anything other than Butler still sits then BB screwed up. If with hindsight he doesn't stand behind his decision than I would have to question if he couldn't have done something else.

I sense this is a trick question and I'm not falling for it. Maybe it's Butler that needs to change. Maybe the bulb is fine the way it is. Maybe we'd progress as a society quicker if we learned to accept things for what they are.

Ok, that's my contribution.

Maybe I should of have said bump.

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?

You don’t know it was the wrong decision because you don’t know why the decision was made and you dint know what condition Butler was in to play that day.

He made the decision based upon the way he coaches.
Making up different ways to deal with it does not change that.
You can disagree all you want with his decision but I have no doubt whatever the facts were it was consistent with the way he had made decisions for 18 years.
And he did what he thought was best for the team. That is what he always does.
How you can stick to your view, particularly the last two sentences, when faced with what ACTUALLY happened in the Super Bowl is beyond me, but whatever. A lot of folks on this board are never going agree with the other side of the coin. Luckily we have a new season coming up and the sting of the SB loss will become less and less.

Roots for the coach before he roots for the laundry.

I just hope we don't have another early season beat down like the last two years. That'll re-open some wounds.

Why was he even active?

Doing what he thinks is best for the team doesn’t mean we win every game.

Are you saying you think he knew it was t best for the team but did it any way? Why? What reason would make the guy who has made every decision for 18 years based upon what he thinks is best for team suddenly do something he doesn’t think is best for the team?

You may disagree that it was best for the team but I don’t see how you can disagree that he believed it was.

And to that, you don’t know why he felt it was not best for the team so you can’t really judge his decision being best for the team or not without knowing that.

Unless you want to believe he just didn’t care about winning the SB.

Why was he even active?
Because we only had 4 corners.

I also believe, just my opinion, that when the inactives were set butler was going to be the 3rd corner. That is consistent with everything we have heard about practice and his poor preparation. Then when he melted down before the game Belichick felt he just couldn’t put a guy with that mindset in the game. Again just my opinion but regardless he would be active because we had only 3 other corners on the roster.

Sorry but this isn't the way to ask or be taken seriously tbh.

I've sat on info before that turned out to be true, long before others have broke. Mostly about college players bc thats the main circle I run in. I knew about Arden Key before anyone in the national media. Found out that Leonard Fournette was basically being driven to the airport by his coaches before almost anyone even though it's not a "big story". There have been others I don't mention bc it's incredibly difficult to confirm these things, esp since I'm not a big shot name.

I also made it a point to call it a "rumor" & said "if" it's true.

In terms of substance, well ... people can go through each of our posting history & it would be one sided early KO.

What's your rumor? You can PM me if you'd like. Just FYI, I'll still take it with a grain of salt until multiple people can eventually confirm it. No offense. But I'd like to know.

So you claim you know the "rumored" reason he was benched.

I've asked you to give actual solid details.

And you responded with neither the rumor, nor who told you.

So far the guys with the "sources" have provided zero tangible information, when asked for anything.

At least a few people have provided game analysis from the jags game that might point to why butler wasn't starting(he still should have played if not started)
