Draft Rumors

I really don't see him being drafted in the top 4 unless Josh Allen's not drafted number 1 overral. If Cleveland goes Sam Darnold than just maybe the Giants might draft Rosen unless they take Barkley which I doubt. The jests are in love with mayfield unless it's a smoke screen.

I can see someone trading up to four. And whilst it might mean nothing, the Browns have been linked to Darnold, Allen and Mayfield but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them linked to Rosen which I find curious.

I can see that as well. A desperate team like the bills could give both first rounders and more lol. The browns would be big winners for once off the field

A lot of hype on Hubbard but Rasheem Green's a guy i like in the later rounds as a pass rusher.

Usually those tweener guys are Patriots types because they work in our scheme but don't fit in many others, so the Patriots can buy that sort of talent at a discount. Problem with Green is that he doesn't defend the run well because his pad level is terrible and he plays with his head down. Maybe if you like the raw talent you think you can coach that out of him, but I'm not sure. He should have stayed in school.

Lynch's problem was that he was never under center in college and he's never shown the ability to play under center in the pros. He can't throw with a five or seven-step drop. It's the worry for all these quarterbacks coming out of spread schemes. Take the snap, one-read. Rarely throwing into tight windows. I'm not sure he's fixable; he would have demonstrated that by now.

Another problem with Lynch is that you only get two years under the rookie contract. If he's going to be starter material after that, he's getting paid BIG BUCKS right away.

I would hate moving up for a qb if it costs any of the other top 4 picks.

Any move up to move ahead of teams like zona, Baltimore, will likely cost us a first and a second.

I think it's fixable. He had 10 sacks. He's 275 i don't know if he's a tweener. Hubbard's getting more hype than this guy. Everton Griffin didn't get this much hype and we saw what happened in the nfl.

My impression is that Hubbard seems to be a more developed, well-rounded player - good edge-setter/run-defender, able to drop back and cover at least the flat, good technique/awareness, etc. OTOH, Green seems more of a pure DL/pass-rusher - and better at that than Hubbard.

Not saying that Hubbard is "better", just that he seems to be more of a Pats-type player due to his versatility.

I cannot believe in trading our picks to move up for anybody. More realistic scenario for me is to trade one of our first round picks to acquire more ammo in late rounds. But who knows what is in BB's mind.

Unless someone compelling is available at #23 (a prospect who's unlikely to be available beyond pick #23, and for whom there's no comparable prospect available later) there could be a "short" trade down that picks up an extra 4th or 3rd. BB has done such trades in the past.

ATL at #26 might want to jump ahead of CAR at #24. NOL at #27 might want to jump ahead of both ATL and CAR. JAX at #28 might want to jump ahead of TEN at #25.

BB has decent relationships with all of ATL, NOL and JAX, so those trades would probably stick pretty close to the value chart (nobody gets screwed, IOW).

I just have no sense of where Rosen will go. I could see him being taken in the top 4 or falling out of the top 10.

I'd say the same for Mayfield.

I mean, if folks here think that Jackson might be a "smokescreen" for the Pats, why isn't it equally possible that Mayfield is a smokescreen for other teams?

Why because the pats are showing interest? Lol. I am not buying it. I do think mayfield could be a good QB. He's a tad taller than Brees in centimeters. He's my 3rd favorite QB after Rosen and Darnold.

I wouldn’t want to do that

Only qb I would consider moving up that far is mayfield. Lamar Jackson only with a small trade up which shouldn’t cost us 31 or the 2 2nds

I don't think though that the pats would waste two first rounders for mayfield. I think they likely have Jackson ahead of mayfield as as QB.

I don’t even want Lamar Jackson if he is there in the 3rd.

Hubbard's ceiling's lower but he can do a little bit more and can play OLB in the 3-4 and he's strong enough to play in the NFL right now. Green is a guy who's an undersized 3-tech if you want him inside and got blocked on his ass by Dalton Schultz, who's a mid-round tight end in this draft. He needs to get stronger and learn to play with his head up and keep his pads low. He's a project. He could be Carlos Dunlap in a few years or he could be a guy like Scott Crichton, who was another 3rdish round tweener defensive end who left school too early and has bounced around rosters.
