Yep. The Leafs are a good offensive team now, and very young so should remain so for a long time. Losing JVR will probably hurt a bit, but we need to build up the defense. Hated the Zaitsev signing and now we're stuck with him I'm afraid. Hainsey had a terrible game.

Pastrnak is playing great hockey and Rask kept them in the game when they needed it. Leafs aren't ready for the Big Time yet. But happy to see them putting up a fight.

He had me after he addressed my festering Red Sox pet peeve of being "patient" at the plate and mindlessly taking early pitches. Somehow he got virtually the entire team to buy into an aggressive disciplined batting approach (swing at good pitches to hit, duh). For this reason alone I have an enormous Cora man crush.

This series is pretty much done. The B's weathered the furious onslaught in the 1st, 2nd period and then just laid the wood on them. I think we'll see a halfassed Leafs effort in game 5.

“Best position to win” doesn’t have to assume that they’ll stay on this current pace, or that it involves making a foregone conclusion that they’ll stay hot from start to finish.

As a teenager, I remember the 1984 Detroit Tigers starting the season 35-5.

By Memorial Day the Sox were already 18 back or something like that. Absurd.
