Can someone tell me what the Patriots are doing? Now Cooks is gone?

Okay bro, if and when Edelman gets injured again because he almost never stays healthy you'll realize the stupidity of what NE has done even with their WRs. Can't believe they let Danny Playoff Amendola go. Disgusting.

Appearing in 71.5% of the games (103/144) he's been eligible for is never healthy? One season out due to a major knee inury aside, a lot of his missed time was due to there being a guy named Wes Welker on the team. Yeah, he missed a few games. Try making your living across the middle at 6' / 190.

The WR group all comes down to health. Edelman, Mitchell, and Hogan need to stay healthy, especially come playoff time. I think Dorsett can potentially shine in this offense if given the chance. I guess we will see about Britt and what Patterson can do.
Don't forget, there is Cody Hollister and McCarron on the practice squad, ya never know.

Um, isn't this how this part of the offseason always goes?

Then when the seasons starts it's all that 14-2, playoffs, play-in-the-super-bowl bullsh*t that everybody here hates.

They are winning!

First thought was that this is a pretty childish rant, one which implies strongly that the OP doesn't pay much attention to the team building part of the process. Then remembered how much I hate it when team loses major good receiver.

I'm completely fine with the receiving corps as is. Especially with the GOAT QB and TE. As long as unloading Cooks and being unable to sign Danny Playoffs leads to a stronger defense it'll be worth it. I'd like to see front 7 with 2 of their first 3 picks and a DB or LT with the 3rd. A QBOTF could be had with the 4th pick or wait til next year if he's gone. Maybe even grab Manziel as super duper everything is going wrong insurance.

No. I'm looking at if any players can make an impact and NONE of them can. Sherman definitely would have made an impact on these trash pass runners, which by the way were completely exposed in the SB. The WR core is weak. All it takes for one more injury to Edelman who almost never stays healthy, and that's it. They're out looking for a WR again. Awful trade.

And relying on Malcolm Mitchell? WHAT? Since when the hell can this guy show he can ever stay healthy? His knees have been shot for years already. He will NEVER be healthy.
Sorry, but you really need to become a Rams fan. They have LOTS of players on their team with name recognition. Clearly, you have learned nothing from the last 18 years of watching the Pats build teams.

Are they seriously going to take a q.b with a 1st rounder? There’s been a few reports

Must be a bandwagoner!
I'm not sure what the connection between having the ability to recognize idiotic analysis when I see it and being a "bandwagoner" is, but if the former makes me the latter, I plead guilty, Your Honor.

Didn’t he admit the other day he doesn’t know how to run routes still? There’s no way he’d be able to learn this offense. Plus Jerry loves him and probably isn’t dealing him.

Let's see...we just lost a major good WR. We lost critical players in our offensive line. We lost defensive players.

Seriously....wtf is this team doing? They're doing nothing all off season besides losing key players, and failing to obtain any above average players. They let Butler go and now they have another hole in the defense. They don't bother to go after Sherman. They don't bother to go after Jordy Nelson. They're not bothering to go after anyone.

Well I guess BB is content for another 2009 season. Remember that season?

Great post.

Belichick wants to suck.

Impressive take.

Very Haaawt.

It was a comical non-sequitur.

Apparently not so comical.

I think Shelton improves the run d. Clayborn does too. Edelman being healthy improves wr, in fact he is better than cooks.
Patterson should help sts.
Jeremy hill is a big back who should help at last in short yardage.
Of course they have done things to improve the team, but here is the real kick in the ass, they aren’t done yet.

Clayborn isn't a great run defender though. And 2016 Edelman might have been better than Cooks but 2018 might not be. He's 32, very beat up and coming off an injury that often takes a full year playing before a guy "looks like himself"

The concerns on offense are very valid. The D has improved but nothing has been done at LB which was their weakest spot. As on the offense, they're relying on an unreliable guy (Hightower).

There's plenty of time to further add to the roster but they're worse off than last year and generally rookies are not Day 1 impact players. The guys they draft will likely be brought along slowly unless injuries or significant performance problems force them into action.

Oh hah, I see it mentioned so many times over the years that I took it seriously.
