seeing as how Costa Rica has served as a MASSIVE staging ground for the transportation of Colombian cocaine for decades, it would seem Harmon chose the wrong "illegal" substance.

"In Costa Rica the law which governs drug offenses is the Law of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law # 8204. The law is aimed at those who “commercialize, provide, manufactures, elaborates, refines, transforms, extracts, prepares, cultivates, produces, transports or sells drugs” So clearly the cultivation or growing of Marijuana under this provision would be illegal. Now that same law does indicate that the personal consumption of illegal drugs is not a crime (Article 58) but instead is considered a Public Health issue (Art. 79). However to further confuse the issue the Costa Rican Health Care Law (Ley General de Salud) Law 5395 indicates that Marijuana is a “prohibited plant and subject to destruction” (Article 126, 127). The Court’s in Costa Rica have generally held that possession for personal use or cutlivation for personal use do not constitute a crime so long as it is not done with the intent to distribute. Bear in mind that in Costa Rica the decisions of one court are not necessarily binding on another so it would all depend on the circumstances of each case.

Unless Harmon took the weed to Costa Rica TO SELL...there is nothing to see here.

The agents and PR guys need to stop feeding players the phrase "does not represent who I am" not only is it contrived and hackneyed but it is silly on it's face. We can do no more than take Harmon at his word as to who he strives to be (hopefully someone who thinks a bit more about what he does). Most of us strive to improve so the latter part of that sentence is in play but as of right now the ship has sailed on the former. Until he shows different he absolutely does represent the kind of dumbazz who tries to smuggle 2.5 oz's of weed into a banana republic for a 'family' vacation because he is that dumbazz that did it.

I also would like to apologize to my family for putting myself in a position where I broke the law. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, but a law is a law and I cannot choose what is serious and what is not. However, I do not apologize for smoking marijuana. I use it, and I use it responsibly....” then I would love for the person to own it, and voice an intelligent opinion about it. These apology letters from public figures is gettin’ old. That statement is calculated to be as bland as possible with the hope that the whole thing leaves the spotlight pretty soon, which it will, due to the extremely short attention span that this society has to "breaking news."

I think it's ******** that this gets any sort of attention. In that marijuana is a depressant as opposed to a stimulant (e.g., it puts people to sleep) I think it's quite stupid that it is illegal in any way shape or form.
