He was extremely injury prone his first few years in the league, but he's been quite durable for the past three years. Injuries are a concern for any player, and especially any 30 year old lineman, but there's no real reason to be more concerned with him than with any other similar-age DE.

Another good side of this deal is that it will count against 6-rd comp pick Pats “got“ for Danny. So Pats were able to fill one of the most expensive positions with solid UFA vet signing - starter/rotational player - and keep their both 3-rd round comp picks intact.

I expect Hill's contract will cancel Bademosis's 7-rd comp pick . which means Pats still have 2 3rd and 1 6th round comp pick. With M.Flowers (reportedly) likely gone and posibly one of Waddle Fleming - there are a couple of 6/7 comps to get back (max awarded is 4 anyway)

What the Eagles taught us is that the Patriots defense wasn't nearly as good as its ranking, and not having Malcolm Butler on the field is a bad idea when the alternatives are what they were.

They sure as hell didn't teach us anything involving their defense.
