Interesting, considering that the Falcons ($14.6M) have even less cap space than the Pats and several of their own critical UFAs to re-sign, especially on the DL. I'd guess extension -restructurings for Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are imminent. Maybe Jake Matthews and Alex Mack, too.
Given his connection to Dan Quinn, the falcon were going to come up eventually. They have to get a deal with Ryan done soon though. So it's possible bit not probable he goes there.

That was before whatever the hell took place in Vegas happened.

I think it's been made pretty clear that what happened in Vegas was that Bennett was wrongly stopped and questioned about a crime that he had nothing to do with, and also as it turns out apparently never happened.

If BB is going to be gun shy about signing a player because he was detained by police because he looked like he might have done something bad, even though he pretty clearly didn't do anything, i guess he should only look at Caucasian free agents that have no history of domestic violence. Also cut julian edlemen because that one time a lady accused him of sexual assault, even though all the evidence clearly shows Jules didn't do anything.

Police officers told Bennett and others to stay down, while Bennett decides to run. So they thought maybe he was a suspect. The officers (in this case) did what was right. Sometimes the officer is in the wrong, most of the time they get it right.

Sheriff: Las Vegas police had reasonable suspicion to stop Michael Bennett

I don't think anything about that night has been made "pretty clear". There was zero evidence, for starters, that a cop had put a gun to Bennett's head as he originally claimed. Further, it wasn't "pretty clear" that he didn't do anything at first. He ran, was detained, and then they pulled up a Google image of his face and simply let him go without even a second's hesitation. Thanks for trying to interject race into the conversation, though. My opinion of Bennett wouldn't be any different if he were white. The point stands. His constant grandstanding to the media in the wake of this would not go over as well with Belichick as it did with Carroll. That's why I would be shocked if the Pats had any interest in spite of the need.

You seem to have no idea what you're talking about. You should either become better informed on the subject or just move on.

It sounds like all we can say definitively is that what happens in Vegas, contrary to all advertising, does not necessarily stay in Vegas.

Like Norm McDonald always says, the only thing that really stays in Vegas is that you can bang a prostitute without fear of having her tell your wife, which is much different than those small town hookers who immediately run back and call her the minute your business has finished.

Well sisters are close in your small towns...

Are there any candidates running on a platform of jailing people who interject their toxic ass politics into every thing?

How would that work? "Vote for me if you want a political free environment?"

Pretty good deal given the contract and minimal draft compensation that was given up. Would have loved to see what BB could have done with him in his prime. Not sure how much he has left but to quote Ernie he has been a fabulous player.

now that bennett is off the board we should close this bad boy down and move on to the next one.

So Bennett and Marcus Peters were given away for peanuts thus far and we didnt want in even for Bennett?
