Solder shouldn't be a big priority for us...he should be THE priority for us. Nothing else can happen until his situation is resolved.

Pre-Draft To-Do list, in order of importance:

Resign Solder;

Gain assurances of Gronk's intentions, and proceed accordingly;

Re-sign either Lewis or Burkhead;

Re-sign Amendola;

Re-sign James Harrison, if the Price is Right;

Re-sign Marquis Flowers, if the Price is Right;

Re-sign either Waddle or Fleming;

And sign a lower-cost vet CB (old friend Sterling Moore?) to take Malcolm Butler's space, if not exactly his place.

Accomplish All of the Above, and then we can talk about Other People's Players.

My fear is that the Patriots do none of the above and settle for re-signing Ebner
and Slater to contracts way above their value.

My fear is that Orlando Brown will fall to the Patriots in round one, the Patriots will draft him, and then the Patriots will convert him to safety because of his "football IQ".

Yep. You're reading comprehension sucks.

Here is what YOU claimed I said:
"If you think Hightower was healthy and playing less than KVN I don't even know where to begin."

Here is what I ACTUALLY said:
"KVN saw 100% of the snaps in the 1st 4 games of the season when HT was healthy."

What I said does not equal what you claimed I said. The problem is your reading comprehension. Plain and simple. No where did I say that Hightower played less than KVN. But you keep insisting that I did.

Why? Because you're inept and your reading comprehension is so atrocious you claim I said something I didn't?

If "KVN saw 100% of the snaps in the 1st 4 games of the season when HT was healthy" and HT didn't play 100% of the snaps. Who played more KVN or HT?

Extend the lost little Cookie? Why? Did you not watch our offense IMPROVE after he got his dumb ass knocked out of the SB?
If Bill could secure a Day 2 pick for Cookie, I would personally drive from Hershey to Foxborough, then without any sleep if necessary drive Cookie to the airport of Bill's choosing.

The money that many people here are dicussing giving this ultimately useless, shiny little toy is a feckin joke.

Your nicknaming skills are top tier. haha

I like cooks and have defended him against the posters expecting the reincarnation of Randy moss stat wise from him this past season. That being said, if teams offer a 1st or 2nd I would think long and hard about making that deal since he’s coming up on the last year of his deal.

Robert Quinn getting shipped to Miami.

Welp. Damn.

I like Cooks a lot. I think getting Edelman back and Cooks having a year in this offensive scheme under his belt could make him lethal this upcoming season. But your point is a good one. Dorsett could possibly fill Cook's role adequately as he has had a year as well.

Hightower was active for five games in 2017:
KCY
CAR
TAM
NYJ
ATL

He played 237 D-snaps total in those games.

KVN's total D-snaps for those five games was 314.

I think the basis of the argument is how do you rate KVN as a LB. It's an interesting topic.

Would you be ok if KVN was the second best LB on the team going into next season? I think I would be as long as the front 3/4 are solid but if the Pats go into this season with a similar DT situation or without my dream NT they had better get another stud LB.

I think the Pats need another smart, assignment-disciplined, and reliably available LB for the interior of the second level regardless if the DL is upgraded, and even if Roberts makes a significant 3rd-year leap in his play and circumstances allow him to focus on being an ILB rather than trying to be a Swiss Army Knife LB. I really don't care how folks want to rank them "best, second best" etc., as long as the group is solid, resiliant and well-coordinated within itself and with the DL and secondary.

Any word of the compensation yet? I just came home and haven't tuned into the NFLN.
Quinn-to-Dolphins trade details, per source: Rams get Miami’s 2018 4th and 6th round picks. Dolphins get Robert Quinn and Los Angeles’s 2018 6th round pick.

The #Saints and veteran S Kurt Coleman agreed to terms on a 3-year deal worth up $18M, source said. He gets a sizeable $6.5M in year 1.

The Fins ship one of their two 4th-round picks and their 6th to the Rams in exchange for Quinn and one of the Rams' four "lesser" 6th-round picks.

The Rams open up $11.4M in 2018 cap space, $12.9M in 2019 cap space, and get back the 2018 4th-rounder they traded to KCY in the Peters deal.

Miami takes on those cap hits and now must shed $20M in cap expenses just to get under the cap.

Kenny Vaccaro as a FA target to infuse some younger blood into the safety rotation is looming. Also could be the sought-after player who makes Richards more expendable (if another rookie or FA signing can pick up the slack on ST).
