Seems there's a lot of speculation that jimmy graham could be a target...

Personally its an interesting one.. considering his blocking is subpar but in the RedZone he is a weapon.. i think a Possibly 3 year deal at 6/6.5 m a season could get it done if it looks good..
(This will mean cutting Bennett and Allen..)

That would work. I actually believe gronk is going to leave

While Graham would be a nice RZ threat, I think the main concern with that is the fact that we’d simply be swapping out two guys who are excellent blockers for another receiving target, and I’m not sure that necessarily helps the overall focus of the team, especially when you factor in cost.

Shoot, if Gronk leaves (God forbid), we’d be down 3 exceptional blocking TEs, with nothing to replace them aside from a hopeful draft selection.

Pats need more talented LB play alongside (and back up) Hightower - maybe Perry Riley from Oakland. We could also use another edge rusher like Chandler Jones to replace the likes of Eric Lee . Doubtful the Pats can afford him since his stock is super high, but his return to Foxboro would be a great story.

I'll take one Jimmy Graham to go please.

Check!

Riley has been a free agent for 11 months. He didn’t even play this past season.

I doubt we will see the bigger name signings but I have total faith in Caserio when it comes to evaluating pro player’s. I think they will have a strong offseason and they will address the deficiencies they have on defense. OLB/DE is the position I want them to address the most.

I’ll be really interested to see if they can identify and sign a young back up QB that we may have overlooked. It may be the route they go in starting to create a competition to replace Brady. It will be the biggest challenge they have ever faced and imo they can’t simply hope the QB they want to be there in the draft for them. I want them to start by looking at QB’s drafted over the past 3-4 years who are hitting free agency and haven’t had the chance to show anything. I think they will have to sort through a number of prospects to find the successor, I seriously doubt they will just draft one and hit on it.

Reality is that Gillislie wont be back. He was useless and a scratch not even a factor this season. Waste of a roster spot. The Pats need something new at RB and Crowell fills the bill with his size and youth. Last season was a down year for Crowell but, its typical for the Pats to bring in players a year removed from a great season. Crowell has great hands too. NE can do better than Dorsett and all efforts should be made to put the best weapons around Brady in his last years. Fitzgerald gives Brady a big target at WR with Mitchell. At the end of his career, Fitzgerald is missing a ring. Reliable and still busting off 1000 yard season at 34. Larry Fitzgerald Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com Its his last shot at a championship.

Gronk can go to the movie business or be a clown in the circus. Whether or not he plays in games has become a determining factor on whether NE wins or loses. No 1 player but Brady should have that moniker. Graham would suffice as a replacement because Fitzgerald is going to take catches away from the TE spot.

I just read an article where NE will have about 30 million in cap space with moving money around. If there is 1 thing that BB has done in the last 18 years and thats keeping NE out of cap trouble. So, I wont buy that NE has no cap room.

Screw Isaiah Crowell. He's scum as a person.. He's the dipshit that tweeted the picture of a cop having his head cut off..

Elite Mcourty kneels for the anthem.

Dont see you complaining about his antics.

I think there's a slight difference between beheading a police officer and kneeling due to the president saying what he did about the NFL players..

I cannot stand Crowell simply due to that.

If all we get is 30 mill in cap room. How much of that will go on picks? I’m wondering if they could sign all the picks plus get a few free agents with that.

I’d like to get graham and Sherman. Possibly some line guys

Giving up on Lee kinda early, aren't ya?

He had 19 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 safety, 1 INT, 2 PDs for the Pats in 281 D-snaps beginning in wk-11.

He's 23. Those were his first snaps ever in a real NFL game.

If he'd been a rookie drafted by the Pats (instead of poached off the Bills PS) would you feel the same?

Six rookies, including two 2nd-rounders, probably hit the 2018 cap for around $5.5M I think. Maybe a little less but I don't know quite where the 2018 "Rule of 51" cap cutoff is yet.

UDFA salaries won't affect the cap, only their signing bonuses. But the total allotted for that (by rule) is less than $500k, IIRC.

Also, the Pats need to start the regular season with some cap space (possibly significant) to cover guys who earn NLTBE bonuses for playing in more games than they did in 2017 - plus to cover for injury signings. IIRC, in mid-August 2017, the Pats still had something like $25M in cap space. By the end of the season, they were down to $3M.

Mcourty is kneeling in the support of the people who hate cops.

Crowell made a public apology, donated a game check to the police and attended a police funeral in Dallas.

Thats not enough for you because he does not have Patriots on his jersey.

Fitzgerald isn't a UFA. He's still under contract with the Cardinals. Not sure why you think that he is.

You have these serious caviar dreams and they aren't close to plausible based on the Pats cap situation. Even with restructuring people to have $30M, they have to get a LT unless they are SOLD that Garcia is the answer. But that's unlikely considering that Garcia spent the entire season on NFI.

You're dreams also don't take into consideration people who have contracts ending after the 2018 season who need to be locked up long term (hopefully) .

It has nothing to do with whether or not he wears a Patriots Jersey.

I saw Crowell's "public" apology. It was half-hearted at best and only done because of the negative PR it got.

Crowell's salary in 2017 was 2.47M according to OTC . That means a game check would have been over $160K. He donated $35K according to the Browns web site..

Furthermore, it was only after the Dallas Fallen Officers Association reached out to Crowell and agreed to bring him to Dallas that Crowell decided to go to the funeral.

If he's TRULY remorseful and can convince Belichick of that, great. Personally, I'd rather Belichick not waste his time on him.
