2018 mocks

On a lot of mock sims I've done, one of, and sometimes two of, Rashaan Evans, Malik Jefferson and Tremaine Edmunds fall to us in 1st round...

Evans is perfect for our defense and would come in partially trained in our defense since he played at Alabama. Super high courage.

Jefferson is the best coverage linebacker in the draft and that would fill a need for us.

Edmunds has tremendous length, freakishly athletic and sudden. He is the bomb.

Smith if Georgia will be off the board long before we pick at 32, but he is the most complete linebacker in this draft. Super high courage.

If any of these four fall to 32, bb needs to sprint that card up to the table.

31- Rashaan Evans
42- Malik Jefferson
63- Tarvarus McFadden
95- Kyle Lauletta

Bill needs to double dip on LBs with the first 2 picks..

3-4

-----------Flowers-Brown-Guy

Hightower--Van Noy - Jefferson- Evans

4-3

Flowers-Brown-Guy-Rivers

Hightower- Jefferson- Van Noy

It is very strange how draftniks view Evans. Some think he is top 25 and some think he is a third rounder.

I guess the combine will shake All this out. But in my mind, if we got both Jefferson and Evans, that is a huge draft win.

Add in cb toliver from LSU and maybe a dt like russel from auburn and that could be a monster draft.

We can use our 4th round comp pick to take the Richmond qb, but I am concerned that he has a pop gun arm.

Would be an unbelievable draft. Love James, reminds me of Collins

This is why I can't take these mocks seriously (no offense to you at all; I just really doubt that the Fan Speak boards are accurate). That would be incredible though.

Drafttek have us taking Lamar Jackson at 43... in all honesty he could become something special behind Brady for a year or two. Especially with McDaniels looking like he's going to be here for a long time.

If I were a gambling man, I'd bet he'll be gone by the end of the 3rd.

He feels more like a Jacoby Brissett who runs too much than "someone special" in the Pats system.

I posted earlier that I'd like them to use free agency / trades to fill in short term holes and use the draft for the longer term. This draft fits pretty well with that idea in the first 4 picks (they don't use anticipated comp picks which is fair at this point). Davenport, Hughes, White and Lauletta all fit the bill and some have short-term value too (particularly Hughes and White). So in this case I'd like to see a big NT and solid LB acquired via free agency/trade.

In theory Nyles Morgan in the 6th sounds like a good Elandon Roberts replacement, someone who actually has good run game gap instincts and good instincts in general, coached by Brian Kelly, and lots of experience in a 4-2-5. But I have a hard time seeing Belichick drafting someone who was demoted from being a captain right before a bowl game.

Going to have to disagree with you. He's raw but with a few years underneath Brady he will be good. Has a very good arm and quick release, can throw all levels. He looks to throw before wanting to run. I'd rather him than a majority of the QBs in this class.

Don't have the time to watch a ton of college football, so now that the seasons done i'm starting to do a bit of research.

My first mock on first-pick.com. I didn't do any trades in this one, even though i'm sure Bill will pull the trigger to get a few more mid-round picks. I went heavy on D, as we need to add talent to the front 7, as well as replace M. Butler. For those that follow the college game let me know your thoughts, if these guys fit well in the Pats system, etc....

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 31: Tremaine Edmunds, OLB, Virginia Tech (A)
Round 2 Pick 11: Rasheem Green, DE, Southern California (B+)
Round 2 Pick 31: Mike Hughes, CB, Central Florida (A)
Round 3 Pick 31: Jerry Tillery, DT, Notre Dame (A)
Round 6 Pick 31: Tyrone Crowder, OG, Clemson (A+)

1.31. Rashaan Evans, LB, 'Bama
2.43. Ronald Jones, RB, USC
2.63. Christian Kirk, WR, TAMU
3.95. Bo Scarbrough, RB, 'Bama
4.COMP. Nick Nelson, CB, Wisconsin
6. Kurt Benkert, QB, UVA

Halfway through this exercise I realized how stupid it was

But what a haul
