If the Pats win Brady’s performance tonight goes down in history as the best game by a QB in Super Bowl history. Even over Steve Young’s 6 TD game. But because they lost he gets sh.it for it.
Tom Brady being so good is why the Patriots lose this game. In this league, you can't keep winning without those draft picks to keep the roster talented, young, and cheap. And for the Patriots, on top of that, they were so good they lost more draft picks as revenge from Goodell. Combine those two elements and you don't have the best defense on the planet because there just isn't the talent there.

Last year, the Patriots defense was slow but we found a way to pull off the comeback as the Falcons offense lost a step as the game progressed. The Eagles were just as fast as last year's Falcons compared to us, but they had depth on offense to see it through.

HIlarious mr maturity marks disagree.

I thought that was funny, because it looked like he was disagreeing that he needed to grow up, like he was Peter Pan.

However, I think it's fine to lose dignity on the Patriots message board after a crushing loss in the Super Bowl. Beats doing it in real life! (Personally I've made some really bad decisions after losing in the Super Bowl, so I speak from experience).

My point.

You should go to bed now and stop embarrassing yourself.

Dude you get a grip. Belichick has to come up with a real reason as to why butler didn't play tonight. The guy's the greatest coach to ever live but he had a bad night

This is real life to him.

I expected them to lose because of the D. I did not expect the d to be as bad, or the offense to be as good.

But the game largely went according to my expectations, which I posted here last week.

The D was abysmal this year. I expected it to be bad again. It also clearly shows that the Patriots offense has been covering for the D all year against lesser teams. Against Philly, it didn't work. The offense couldn't gain the 700+ yards in needed. It gained 600+ and needed 700+.

I warned people not to be surprised.

He had a reason, he doesn’t need to come up with one.
But that has nothing to do with people acting like crybabys and because the team lost a SB.

Brady played so well. It’s a shame the defense couldn’t help a bit more
This defense was built around Hightower and McCourty. Without Hightower, it was a miracle we ever got to the Super Bowl. From the beginning of this season onward, this wasn't a team that felt like a champion. Too many mistakes and reliance on luck. We were lucky to beat Pittsburgh, but we did it. We were lucky to beat a phenomenal Jacksonville defense, but we did it. Philadelphia was a talented and smart football team and the Patriots were, except for a few key players, a bunch of rag tag guys. And we finally didn't do it.

The good news is that, provided Brady comes back, we should be able to restock the defense with Hightower, a pass rusher through the draft or free agency, and a little more depth at linebacker and the secondary. Otherwise, I don't see us even beating teams like the Jaguars, Texans, and Steelers without a little more luck coming our way. We'll also have a lot to overcome with new coordinators, but I suspect a new philosophy under Belichick's guidance on defense could help to develop new systems around a younger core group of players.

I hope Brady retires. This defense will ruin it in SB53. **** this defense.
