Great Win (Obviously)/Fire Romo

I love listening to Romo. Gives an insight and a QBs way of thinking with the coverage. I rather listen to Romo than most. Feel I learn s lot listening to him.

lol. get a gr
Yes, I always trust people with one word counters, who then run away, with no substance to the counter itself.

lol

I've forgotten more about football then you'll ever know. Sorry.

By rule, a fumble is when the player loses control off the ball, which only happened after Lewis's hip/butt was down.

This is a fact, it;s not an opinion.
LOL, Get a grip.

Yet, he roots for BB's D to lose, and over-exagerrates the opponents' offense and progress during the game, just openly rooting for all to go well with dramatic "ooohs and ahhhs" to threaten doom for NE. He's annoying as hell.

It was 14-10 at half and he already had Gronk out for the second half, giddy beyond belief.
Newbie

Romo is broadcasting to a national audience, so has to perform accordingly. As such, he will big up the underdog (the majority of his audience can't stand the Patriots, don't forget) as well as continually refer to NE's ability to adjust/come back and declare Brady the GOAT.

In other words, he's looking to appease the whole audience some of the time rather than the likes of Dan Fouts who cannot hide his bias and presents a staggeringly narrow minded view of the game.

I like Romo - he provides insight to plays that others don't (perhaps he's more familiar with modern playbooks than most of the fossils employed by the networks?), and I don't see any bias against NE outside of pandering to supporting the underdog. He's just trying to inject some excitement into the proceedings - admittedly, he goes too far on occasion, but I'll take that over the usual bile from Fouts and co any day...

(Oh, and it was a fumble. By rule. Deal with it.)

I mean, is this for real. He has Nantz wrapped up too.

You don't get paid to openly root for the other team from the second the whistle blows, and then make it so obvious, misleading the viewer. It happened again, just like all year and worse than last week.

The Lewis "fumble" was clearly not a fumble and there were other calls where he was openly rooting to see something that was not there, that would hurt the Pats.

The viewer is expected to believe the analyst and he has so much power, as he lies and misrepresents things.

Again, been watching this for 35 years have never seen a color analyst have such a disingenuous bias.

What a pretty boy, annoying dork. Sorry, but it's true.

He's apparently the smartest guy in the room calling out things I call out and the way he uses that on screen marker to show what he thinks should be done, hoping he is right...? Yet, he was a mediocre QB who was so easily duped like Jay Cutler with the worst timed INTs this side of the Mississippi.

This is abomination. I have never seen a guy so awful at his craft as a rookie be praised, and I have no idea why Pats fans would ever support such a disgrace. Worst I have ever seen as a rookie commentator, possibly in all of sports.

PS God bless Amendola and the O Line, not to mention the D that shut the door again in the 4th qtr like they always do, keeping it to 20 points and under which as been the magic number in this offensive Goodell Era for a decade.

On to Minny.

52 people ~ and counting ~ have hated this OP.

52 people are right.

How the phuck do you keep hating on Tony phucking Romo, the only announcer worth listening to?? He's the first guy that makes me turn the volume up.

Poor Tony

I find Romo talks too much about some things to the point where he is aggravating and distracting..

Over time am tuning him out more and more, wish I could get the Zo & Socci feed to be in sync with the broadcast..

Unfortunately do not find the SB 52 color guy, Collinsworth, much better his droll tones make me want to tune him out as well..

He was trying to make up for the week before where he thought Tennesse had a shot and ended up looking bad. Last thing you want as an announcer is an awful blowout you need to fill space with. I thought he was rooting for the Jags to keep it close but I dont think he ever doubted the Pats would comeback. Just seen this playout to many times in recent years. I think he has a good season.

Romo is great. He is both insightful and unbiased. I know it sounds like he was rooting for Jax early on but he just gets enthused by good football in general. He was also sounding pretty excited when Amendola hauled in the game winner.

100% false by the rule. He had possession tied to his hip, firm, no movement, was down and then it was stripped. Down.

No fumble.

You have to strip before he is down. This is very simple.

I am sure many already pointed it out in the last 4 pages but he had lost control of the ball long before it got stuck around his hip for a fraction of a second. This is not obvious possession no matter how much you want it to be.

Easy to understand why everybody doesn't like the same people but my God, give it up. Romo is a high energy guy and loves a good football game. I've never noticed him rooting against the Pats. He calls things as he seems them from a QB that wasn't to bad himself..

LOL!!!

Sounds just fantastic, Millennial. Hey trade 2009 Tony for Cassel in your Madden video game!

Yay!

You’re talking sh!t to the wrong person. Pissah is one of the best poster’s onthis board and has been for years.

I agree. It’s not like the catch rule, he had lost possession and didn’t regain it. Temporarily stopping the ball from moving does not reestablish possession.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the ball was not moving around the "whole time". Every viewed showed it pinned against his hip as his *** hit the ground.

You shouldn't tell others to learn the rules when you don't know them yourself.
You should take your own advice and learn the rules. Pinning the ball against his hip is not re-establishing possession, especially when it moved as he hit the ground.
