JOSH WILL COACH INDY

I am very curious about what Josh has been told about Luck's shoulder.
I'd imagine it has to be encouraging; otherwise, I don't know why else Josh takes that job when he's seemingly been so cautious to only choose something that looks like a slam dunk the past few seasons.

Why does he always have to go to a hateworthy team? First the Broncos and now the Colts, it's like he is doing the Pats enemy tour. Why Josh, WHY???

I dunno know if he cared. The Dolts pick #3. If you need a QB thats the spot to take 'em in.

For all we know Josh might think while talented, Luck can't run his offense.

There are rumors that Luck can’t get proper blood flow into his shoulder...

They also have former Patriots QB Jacoby Brisset on the roster. Last time he took a HC job he tried to former Pats QB Matt Cassel.

Colts already had a former Patriot QB making it a desirable location.

Josh might also want to consider that a considerable portion of the Indy media and fanbase are already irrevocably poisoned against him. He's not going to get much of a honeymoon.

I'm not sure about that -- the Indy fan base has been pretty beaten down lately, and has been subjected to some of the worst management and coaching in the league. A little competence should be all it takes to give them a ray of hope, and a ray of hope translates into a honeymoon.

My big question is what all of this means about Luck's prognosis. I could convince myself equally that Josh is the candidate you'd pick to revive Luck's career and finally make him into the QB he has the ability to become, or that Josh is the candidate you'd pick to develop a rookie QB.

Interesting that the Pats play both the Colts and Lions next season (EDIT: as well as the Titans)

I think you underestimate the hate. The league and both national and local media have been doing all they can do poison every other fan base against the Pats for over 10 years now. There is now an entire generation of football fans that don't know anything else other than "the Pats (and by extension everyone who works or plays for them) are huge cheaters." Nowhere in the country is that stronger than in Indy.

I don’t think he takes the job if he had to use 3 on a qb and eat lucks contract. That’s suicide.

I think they go heavy on defense.
I think mcd will ultimately want to copy the patriot model of if you have a qb who can make everyone around him better spend your assets on the areas he doesn’t affect.
I think josh sees luck as that kind of qb.

It's clear to those of us with foresight, or is it foreskins? I get the two confused.
Anyhow, every few years Josh leaves for a "competitor". He subsequently returns.
This time the deal is to stay away until Tommy Boy retires and JAG & Josh return together to run Pats Dynasty Release 2.0.

Surprised he'd go to Indy, but I wonder how many options he had when the whittling down began. Might be good news for Brissett - I really think Luck is a shell of his former self.

Not surprised TN went away from Mularkey, and I think that's an interesting place to go. I don't on know why they'd go for a D guy, though - they need discipline, sure, but what they really need is someone who can take a very talented QB to the next level.

Is Patricia to the Lions still the bet?

The article that I read yesterday seemed to suggest very strongly that Matty P will be the next coach of the Lions.

I'm not questioning that JMcD is going to Indy, but I don't think they can actually reach a formal agreement until the Pats season is over, which, as we all know, won't occur until late in the afternoon on the first Sunday in February.
