Sunday Games Thread: Bills/Jaguars and Panthers/Saints

Not sure how we beat new orleans earlier in the year, they seem unbeatable. Pitt, NO, and Atlanta I think are the only teams that COULD beat NE.

On to the Titanbergers though.
New Orleans also lost to the Rams and Falcons (and Tampa Bay in the more or less meaningless regular season finale). They are a very good football team. But not unbeatable.

Where does Dilfer come out ahead? His playoff stats looked way worse than Manning.
Dilfer comes out ahead in passer rating and yards per attempt. Manning was basically just checking down to avoid turnovers in 2015. Dilfer's completion percentage is worse, but he was gunning it down the field. Manning needed 92 throws for 539 yards.

Minnesota, hosting the Super Bowl, would be quite the challenge, too. Can’t forget about them. If they win at home vs New Orleans, they’re almost certainly going to curb stomp the winner of the PHI/ATL game to host the SB.

As a matter of fact, I saw that some of the Sports books had them as odds on favorites above us. Not sure how you could forget to include them, but they’re for real in my opinion.

They lost to the Vikings too, I believe.

Yes, in their opener. I remember that Saints fans were losing their minds after losing to the Pats and starting 0-2. Saw comments about how Peyton should be fired and such. How quickly things turned around for them.

As many things as I’ve been incorrect about this season (I had the NYG going 10-6 in our preseason prediction thread) I wasn’t one who overreacted after their week two loss to us. Same with the Falcons and the Bills. It seemed like so many here wrote all of those teams off and didn’t give them any chance at seeing the postseason.

I was surprised by Seattle’s demise and LA’s success, and I think everyone had assumed Green Bay as a competitor. Dallas falling back to earth didn’t surprise me in the least, but Philly’s success certainly did. I also expected Denver to play better.

Oh we are far from perfect, but Falcons game was BS ref calls to make us lose it, watch the game and viking got us like you did when the D was still not getting it, the Rams beat us but all our DS was out including lattimore. There are no excuses and we are not unbeatable, but the D has worked out its problems and the boys have a team with Brees that could make it. I think we are the 1-2 team in the NFC. Vikes prob better,

I definitely think that the winner of the MIN/NO game goes on to play in the SB, with a decent chance of winning.

If MIN wins, that’s going to create one hell of an atmosphere for the first time in 52 years. It would be crazy.

Pending the AFC favs win this weekend, who do you think will be favored for the AFCCG ( maybe add the line if you want too)? Furthermore, who do you personally ( being objective) think would win?

QB's: Roethlisberger vs Brady.

WR's: Brown, JuJu, and Bryant vs Cooks, Hogan, and Amendola.

TE's: James vs Gronk

D's: About a wash.

After the Pats the Saints are my favorite team in the NFL, was surprised that they had such a difficult time with the Panthers... perhaps it was the familiarity of having played them for the third time, but was not impressed that much with their D....

Minnesota next week is a tough opponent..

In the AFC, Blake Bortles are they kidding??? 12 for 23, 87 yards passing.. what a freaking joke that is. He rushed for more yards than he passed...

Not all that familiar with Tennessee, suspect will not learn all that much this week as sports talk radio will continue their mental masturbation over the Wickersham article... for some reason that cast of characters is all giddy over the possibility of the Patriots demise... perhaps it is my delusion to believe sports talk hosts are actual fans..

Not sure if it's reasonable or not but fans of any other team would laugh us out of the room for saying this defense = PIT's.

The Patriots put up 27 on them in Pitt while missing a bunch of players. And Pitt plays in one of the worst offensive divisions in football, and overall the worst division in football, 6 wins against Baltimore, Cleveland, and Cindy. I’ll take Brady against them anytime anywhere, but especially in Foxborough. Pitt sold out against them to try and get the #1 seed, they showed everything they want to try against them, next time they will put up over 30.

I agree that fans of other teams would laugh. But looking at the numbers, since week 5 the Patriots D on paper has *gasp* been better than Pittsburgh's. 1.21 points allowed per drive for the Patriots D compared to 1.80 for Pittsburgh's.

Cam Newton played a hell of a game. Olsen was getting held on every play like Gronk, that offensive line sucks, and I'm really not sure who half those receivers are; I'm uncertain any of them would even be on the Patriots active roster, including Funchess. Also he definitely had a concussion.

That game shouldn't have even been close based on the gap in talent, and yet the Panthers could have won had the officials not botched the game. That was all Cam.

Patriots are the #5 defense, Pittsburgh is #7. Sounds pretty equal to me.

Yeah, I thought it was obvious he had a concussion, too. The Panthers are now under scrutiny for it as is the NFL.

I meant they will face a much better secondary in Minnesota.
Better run D too.

MN is allowing 12.5ppg at home this year and NO is scoring 26ppg on the road.

Somethings gotta give.
