Sounds to me like that's saying he was the mouthpiece publishing leaks or statements by the Gronk family. I recall when Gronk was having injury issues (think it was the broken forearm infection) his family was pushing their message to the press directly, independent of the team. Belichick has no reason to go to the Giants with that awful roster. Of all the teams out there, the Lions job with Stafford -- a decent quarterback -- would allow him to have a chance to build a roster with a chance to win a championship. The Giants, on the other hand, chased out Coughlin who Belichick respects and beat him twice in the Super Bowl. Why you would trade being with the Patriots to go to the Giants who are on their way to being the Cleveland Browns of the East Coast is beyond me.

And Belichick knows that even Belichick can't thrive in a Cleveland Browns situation.
