JK Rowling got it right with her Rita Skeeter character, where she said she has 25% truth and 75% rubbish. Unfortunately that's true in many fields of journalism; Ellen Schultz at the WSJ is considered an "expert" in her field, but actually working in that field I can say she falls in the same category.

Point is, I'm sure there's some truth in what's coming out. But I'm also sure it's being vastly overblown and filled with several innacuracies and hearsay. But there will be some truth to it. We just need to dig it out and figure out how serious things really are.

PFT claiming the article does NOT claim that Brady in fact demanded Kraft trade Jimmy.

People will claim this is proof of backtracking but it was the goofball Bruce Allen who reported that, so who knows. If there's smoke, there's fire..
You know, Bruce Allen has entertained me greatly over the years, but there's more than a grain of truth to your goofball" description. Hey, I sometimes slip into my Pats persecution complex persona, but Bruce Allen resides fulltime in his.

Do you really think a 41 year old Brady can win a Superbowl with a run of the mil NFL coach, like John Fox?

I bet Tom would get old very quick without BB or Josh around.

Brady would still be decent even without bill. You acting like Brady's a bum without these guys. Yes they're a perfect combination but i think he would still be decent.

There's some truth and maybe things have calmed down. Hopefully. I am not buying that brady wanted jimmy out.

Mike Reiss. God bless him.

Not really a denial either, FWIW. And he had a line in his Sunday column that was one of his classic this-sounds-like-speculation-but-is-it-really-a-nugget? lines, when he said something like "Bill Belichick--assuming he returns for a 19th season"

Imagine if Krafty Bob drives 2 hall of fame coaches out of town....

The one thing I wish Kraft did not do is invite ESPN over to set up shop during training camp this year. Just had free reign to do whatever. Keep them out.

It isn't his job to confirm or deny. It is his job to report what he knows without any addendums.

No. I wouldn’t. You didn’t understand.
You called it overpaying

I am saying that it is not as far fetched as some might think. You aren't in practice. You don't know how close or how far from today’s Brady Jimmy had become. None of us do.
What? Are you telling me that you can judge if someone is close to the greatest qb ever whonis the greatest because he has carried his team to 7 SBs, 5 SB titles, 8 straight 1 or 2 seeds, 7 straight afccg and had probably the 2 greatest performances in the clutch in SB history in the last 3 years, IN PRACTICE?
Brady isn’t the goat because of how he throws a 12 yard out. Brady is the goat because when it matters most he gets the job done better than anyone, ever.
There is a 1 chance in ever that jimmy g can be that and there is a hell of a lot more he has to prove on the field and in playoff games to even bring it up.

I prefer having Brady. But I am saying that the POSSIBILITY of BB seeing enough to suggest an eventual move is not as improbable as you seem to think.
Yes it is. B.B. is not moving from Brady until brady no longer can be brady. No qb in nfl history would make him do that.

Honestly, here's what is probably going to happen.

To punish Brady, BB will trade Brady to CLE. The Collins punishment.

Kraft will trade BB to CLE. He knows that's hell on football earth for BB.

Kraft will step down. But then Haslam in CLE will go to jail. So Kraft will take over CLE.

Brady and Belichick are the most amazing men on the planet. For 17 years they have always took blame for failure first and have always been quick to pass the reason for success to others, For 17 years they feigned this without fail because, obviously, it has been a 17 year con job. They are actually petty "it's me! it's all me!" guys?

Again, the Patriots could not afford 2 20 million dollar QBs on the same roster at the same time. So BB would cut Brady and pay 20m to an almost completely unproven even though he looked highly promising (BTW, Jimmy looks extremely promising but he has done almost nothing in the NFL yet) with BB clearly approaching the end of his HC career? (consider the cap ramification: 20 million to keep Jimmy is roughly equal to the cost of Lewis, Burk, Gronk, Jules).

Again, BB answers to no one except when the man who signs the check says "I can't pay all these zeros" or "why are we losing too many games". If BB wanted to trade Brady he would do it. If he wanted to keep both and pay them both 30 million (and have nothing but vet minimums) he would. Say what you want about Kraft but he knows down to his bones that BB does and should call the football shots. And if he messed with that he has lost BB -- the friggin dumbest move Kraft could ever imagine much less do.

Make no mistake, when BB sees TB slipping and feels there is a better option to win this next game and the season overall? He'll do it (hopefully TB retires before that point). See Bledsoe, Drew for that. And if Kraft says "no you won't Bill, I'm calling the shots" then the Patriots dynasty is truly over.
EDIT: (1) keep in mind the switch to Brady over Bledsoe was brought on by Bledsoe being hurt and Brady getting a long audition to confirm he was ready to lead. AND it was a switch to an expensive QB to a VERY inexpensive QB move. Jimmy, likely and for his own very good reason, said "I'm getting paid here, franchised, or paid somewhere else. A switch to Jimmy (trade TB) would have been a switch to an unproven and expensive QB AND take a 22million cap hit in dead money? Fuhgetaboutit.
(2) Anyone actually think BB would trade TB halfway through a season where the offense was humming and the critical historical 6th SB was very clearly in reach? Really?? Jimmy was kept, IMHO, because BB was (A) had a very good and inexpensive backup, (B) hoping to structure something that would see Jimmy agree to get top pay in a year or two (with good reason to think TB might be at the end of the line within 2 years).
(3) BB said it in a presser: (paraphrase) 'in today's NFL you can't keep two expensive QBs'
(4) ESPN, the leader in fake news...

If that happens, I think Kraft would be more hated in New England than Roger Goodell...

I'm curious as to how Bedard knows this.
Honestly, I think Bedard is plugged into BB, and if not him someone close. Not saying he gets it right all the time but that's always been my sense.

ESPN lies.

I would really rather hear why John Skipper resigned.

This sounds like subjects alluded to in November that also involved this WickerSHAM.

The story is likely garbage. Not even a scandal worth mentioning. The Pats are not an open team, so I seriously doubt this clown is privy to details of an internal conflict.

From insiders saying Brady's marriage is on the rocks (2014), to the team hates Belichick (2003), to Mankins isn't talking to the team and is in Oklahoma (actually was in Foxborough pretty much the whole contract dispute), this is pure drivel. And timely drivel, given the Pats hate generally. And it should be taken as a bad sign this expose is promoted across the sports network rather than simply offering the article. Shocking.

Who cares about what these jokers at ESPN spew? The Pats hate them, and they hate the Pats. One of those organizations remains at the top of the game while the other makes the Browns look like a Super Bowl contender with the rate it's bleeding share value. It is why I revel in every failure ESPN experiences. I used to enjoy that network 20 years ago. Now it's pure crap.

Exactly.

ESPN used substance abuse to cover up a long existing sexual harassment issue involving their president who resigned and was seen drinking shortly thereafter.

Isn't it alright to question the veracity of their journalism?

Mike Reiss. God bless him.

Not in those words. More like constantly being in Kraft's ear about why Jimmy was still there, where Brady's extension was and how about some loyalty.

So Reiss is lying low on the BB front b/c Bill give him nothing and Baguette Bedard says Brady was nagging Kraft about Jimmy, new contract and questioning his loyalty. Wonderful how hes making Tom look like a winey primadonna *****.

So hypothetically Bob goes to Bill and asks what hes doing about Tom and Jimmy. Bill says I'm trading Jimmy to SF and we keep Tom. Kraft says OK.

Done
