I want to believe you're right with every fiber of my being, but can you cite any examples or provide support for your statement?

And, if it doesn't affect his availability in two weeks, is there any chance it could affect his availability in the Playoffs? Again, examples or support would be helpful.

Thanks.
He is out for Miami unless he wins his appeal which will be heard tomorrow and decided on by Wednesday.

If he appeals it then he would play against Miami, assuming ruling will take that long but if he loses appeal, then he would be unavailable for that Steelers game.
I suppose Browns toe injury could go that long too.

The appeal is heard in 24 hours. It doesn't take 1 week.

Do we know for sure that BB said it was ********? I remember watching that video without the subtitles and I'm not sure that came out of BB's mouth. I don't remember where I saw the video.

He said it during his handshake meeting with McDermitt at midfield.

The NFL needs to completely revisit it's punishment phase, and needs much clearer guidelines as to fines and suspensions......I think it underuses ejections, and overuses suspensions to compensate, and there is no consistency as to how fines & suspensions are carried it

it all starts with referees taking charge of games much sooner....in the Miami game they did a poor job of handling the chippy behavior, and they did similar here.....they also were very inconsistent in handling the mugging by DB's......the BS with Amendola should have been dealt with sooner, and if they had ejected Gronk, this suspension would have never happened......they bounce Gronk after that play, and I think zero posters here have a problem with it.......they'd probably tack on a fine (under a clear tiered system would be cool), and none of this ****storm happens
There are penalties, and as you say ejections for violating the rules. Players should rarely if ever be suspended.

Thank God he just cheap shotted a guy and could have seriously injured another player. Imagine if he had done something serious like possibly knowing about taking a tiny little bit of air out of footballs that may or may not have been deflated at all. In that case he would have been out until the playoffs started.

Meanwhile, Burflict and Suh do worse things at least three or four times a season (each) and rarely get suspended at all. First time offender gets a suspension. I'm sure the fact that he plays for the Patriots is just a complete coincidence.

Well that is how suspensions work Googler.
I hate to say something mean or nasty about anyone, but Volin just seems to be a step or two behind in terms of doing his job properly. Still won’t forget his mangling of the facts during the Alfonzo Dennard case.

I think he’s gotten better, and this may just have been a reminder to everyone, but he’s got to improve.

This was bad, and he needs to take stock of himself. I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt White, but being 270 pounds has it's responsibilities. But the thing that really makes me angry at this was that the game was over. He played a spectacular game. Just be happy with that and let the rest go. Know the situation. I know that elite athletes are different from us. Their competitiveness is a big part of what makes them great. But know when to dial it down. Anyway, I'm hoping this doesn't have long term repercussions.

A one game suspension is fair. That was a cheap shot by Gronk. He’s much better then that. He should know better.
It would seem reasonable to say the punishment is in alignment with the crime but this is the NFL we are talking about here.

For anyone who has the position of, "Gronk should not appeal and take his medicine" should be shot (I know you are not saying that).

The NFL is not about fairness or justice. Its about control and money. If Gronk can work the system and get it knocked down to a heavy fine he should do it with a clear conscience.

Gronk's at 55 rec for 849 yards and 7 TD this season.

He could still make it in yards in the final 3 games assuming we haven’t clinched.
351 needed.
He had 147 yesterday and face beefalo again.
His last 3 vs Pitt were 94,93,143 and 83,88,106 vs jets.
That’s an average of 110 vs Pitt 92 vs the jets which leaves 149 vs the bills so it’s doable.

just a reminder, this hit drew a mere $9000 fine

THAT is a career ending type hit......

This is the problem. Football is a game of collisions. People get hurt.
Flacco was running to the first diwn market. Alonzo’s job is to him hit and drive him backward.
Flacco sliding at the last second out his head when his thighs, the correct point of contact should be.
Football isn’t played in slow motion and if Alonso played so slow that he checked to see whether flacco was sliding he wouldn’t be in the NFL. Frankly this shouldn’t have even drawn a penalty but they have this stupid rule that the defender is responsible for where he delivers the hit even if the target moves while he is delivering.

I mean, weed gets you years of bannage, and being a lifetime domestic abuser gets you 1 game if you're a Giants kicker and the story hasn't hit the news yet, so 1 game is no biggie I guess.
